Post Dr. Gudakunst Top Secret Fat Loss?!

Hello everyone,

Perhaps you've heard of Dr. Susan Gudakunst? Lady doctor who's supposedly getting death threats from big companies in the food and diet industries cause she's discovered the secret to weight loss and why people seem to be getting more obese despite everything? She has an ebook/course she's selling on the net.
Apparently it's mainly a major detox that she's talking about. Clean the parasites out of your colon, etc; and you won't have so much trouble losing weight.
I haven't read it or tried it myself yet, but I was wondering if anyone has? And has it worked at all for you?
Thanks!

If MS. GUDA was a really nice doctor, who truly had the answer to weight problems, she should share that important medical info with everyone for FREE. As a doctor, she makes enuff money and could prove she really cares by helping others get healthier.

BUT I HATE TO BURST YOUR BUBBLE ~ I have heard many versions of this parasites in the digestive tract idea many times before; it has been debunked over and over by the best doctors and medical specialists. And in the colon, you say: that is where all the waste matters gather, just before the are eliminated out of the body, so that wouldn't help anything.

SORRY HON, that theory just doesn't work becuz people continue to lose weight despite her ideas, like the ones here 3FC's, for instance. There will always be those looking to make a quick buck claiming to have found some easy, new, secret solution to weight-loss and they just are not real!!!

I've seen a male doctor on info-mercials several times talking about his book, and basically the same thing. Disgusting things that come out of your body (colon) after doing the treatment. Major detox. He did sound believeable and I wondered myself about it.
I'd rather drink water and detox the old fashion way!
Let us know if you try something like that!

2bthinagain - the funny thing is that the drink the doctor gives you is what creates those disgusting things. Its fiber based and it can make things that look like parasites but aren't. If you actually took it to a doctor and asked if it was a parasite, he'd tell you no.

Parasites in the intestine are real but if you have them, you need real medicine from a doctor.

Who says she's been getting death threats? Let me guess. She is. Sorry, but that isn't very likely. It would be big news, the police would be involved, and it would be on television. Also, if she really had the secret for weight loss, she would win the nobel prize (or at least have articles published in reputable journals of medicine, not selling an ebook).

Conspiracy theories are convenient and work because they're almost imposible to disprove (after all, if you haven't heard about it, doesn't that prove it is a conspiracy? - Yeah, if you're a paranoid schizophrenic).

"Secret" conspiracies are a hallmark of an urban legend - and a bogus marketing ploy for decades, if not centuries. My product works. In fact, it's the only product that works. Why haven't you heard of it? Why because powerful people don't want you to know that it works, and are keeping me from proving it to the world. And they can do it, too because they've got money and power....

Thanks for all the input. I still haven't tried it, but i might. I assumed the same about the threats, etc. And if it was free, i doubt anyone would take it seriously.
But honestly, i don't expect it to be a miracle weight loss secret, but I don't think a detox would do anyone amiss. There are undoubtedly nasty things sitting around in our body, not helped by most of the food we tend to eat. Fats, preservatives, oh my!
If she has a good detox plan, I'll probably try it. At the very least, I'll be healthier if not lighter. I'll let you all know if it actually helps me lose weight.

Your body detoxes itself. It has MANY organs dedicated solely to doing a "detox" for you...your kidneys, your liver, and your intestines. Most cleanses/detoxes say you have parasites and "mucoid plaques", but these things have NEVER been found in autopsies or colonoscopies of people who haven't taken cleanse products. Some people have parasites, but they don't look anything like the things that the cleanses remove.

Lots of cleanses, in particular the kind that talk about "plaques" in the colon, contain bentonite clay...combine that with water, and you get something that looks mysteriously like the plaques that the testimonials for the product claimed to have removed! No one has ever seen evidence of these plaques in a person that hasn't taken a cleanse product, and yet EVERY person who takes the cleanse product has them, and the product itself contains something that creates a substance that looks much like the plaques.

Bottom line - no one needs a special plan, substance, product, or diet to "detox". If you're concerned about toxins, eat a whole foods diet and get plenty of water. Your body will take care of the rest of the detoxing for you.

And as an aside, calorie counting is free, and plenty of people take it seriously. And despite being free, it works, better than anything I'd tried before.

Detox is a myth.

Your body is perfectly capable of "detoxing" itself if you eat healthily. These claims that you have to "detox" your body every so often is just to get you to buy a plan, or a drink, or a pill, or some kind of juice or something.

It simply isn't true.

Everyone's colon has yeast and bacteria that help with the process of digestion and elimination. Removing those is *bad*. If you have any other types of parasites, as nelie said above, then you need to see a real doctor and get real medicine.

And the stories of people "detoxing" and getting big wads of hair and gunk from their colon - myths. The only way you can get hair in your colon is if you eat hair in the first place. If you didn't eat it, it ain't getting in there.

Don't fall for the myths. Eat healthily and sensibly and you'll do fine.

There's no scientific basis for the "built up toxin" theory. In fact, quite a lot of evidence against it. The body is self-cleaning. It does a great job. Detox and cleansing products are not harmless, they can be quite damaging. Some strip the body of important nutrients, some are just dangerous fasts, others contain herbal products that can cause dehydration through vomiting and/or diarrhea and painful cramping (using these symptoms as proof of the body "cleansing" itself).

Actually, if it were free, I would put MORE stock in it, because the reasons for deception are clear - TO TAKE YOUR MONEY.

"Cleansing" products and diets are a popular scam because so many people believe that "a detox would[not] do anyone amiss. There are undoubtedly nasty things sitting around in our body."

No - there really aren't, at least none that can be removed by a juice fast or "cleansing" product.

Your wallet will be lighter, but you will not be healthier, perhaps just the opposite.

If you had parasites in your colon, you would probably be having diarrhea, as your body attempts to rid itself of the invaders. Taking something that makes you go more is not a cure for real parasites. You would need medication for that. I had a friend who lost over 20# before her Dr. figured out she had Giardia. I jokingly told her I wanted it too, but just long enough to lose some weight.

Although ... do you know that at the turn of the century you could buy a tapeworm to ingest to help you lose weight?
