Excited about Lipovox!!!
So a friend of mine gave me 10 of her Lipovox, dietary supplement pills. I was thinking it would be like one of those kinds that make you a jittery or have crazy mood swings, or some sort of catch. But after losing 4 lbs in two days, and keeping it off, I did some research. Turns out it was on Oprah and it is used for anti-aging and acne too. There is no side affects. So I bought my own bottle and I just got it in the mail earlier this afternoon. I am so excited to see what they do for me!!!! My friend that had me try them to begin with weighed 145 lbs and she is down to 120 (her goal weight) after just a month! And she doesn't even work out or anything ( I do, like 4-6 times a week). Ahhhhh I'm so excited! Anyways, just wanted to share some positive, happy energy... Have a nice night everybody !!!!

Does Lipovox Work?
by Kirsten Hawkins
Question: I stumbled on a product called Lipovox on the internet. It claims to get rid of acne, wrinkles, and burn bodyfat leading to weight loss. It sounds like a miraculous pill. Does it really work? Do you recommend it?
Answer: After researching the Lipovox product I can tell you that there is absolutely no validating evidence to substantiate the effectiveness of this Lipovox product.
The claims they make are absolutely ridiculous, and aren't justified by anything even remotely resembling scientific evidence. If you think Lipovox is the elusive magic pill that will allow you to eat whatever you want, never exercise and still shed the pounds, you may as well stop reading now. In fact, you may as well stop browsing the web, because it doesn't exist.
It's hard to determine whether there is really anything important contained in the product because they don't reveal anywhere the "10 super secret ingredients" are actually in this product. That's highly disturbing to say the least. Any product manufacturer who does not have the confidence to reveal what his/her product contains should be viewed with some skepticism. My guess is that there is nothing of any importance contained in this expensive "magic pill."
If you do shop for a weight loss product in a health store, pharmacy or on the Internet, you'll often find hundreds of different brands containing a confusing array of ingredients. You may be tempted to experiment with different diet aids until you find one that works. But this approach may be expensive. Karen Austin, a respected nutritional writer from Med Health Reports did a fantastic review on diet pills and their actual effectiveness in a recent feature, the results are quite surprising.

Yes, I did my research and have heard both positive and negative stories. But me losing the weight I have, and my friend losing 25 lbs in 30 days is good enough for me! (Well, to at least give it a 30 day trial).

I would suspect your friend is lying to you about what she weighs or how much she's lost or both.
Losing 25lbs in 30 days is very nearly impossible. It requires losing 1 lb a day - or a 3500 calorie deficit every single day of the month. That's simply not possible.

Losing weight that quickly means you are NOT burning just fat. You're losing water and MUSCLE. Who wants to lose muscle? Losing weight that quickly will leave you with less muscle, which will leave you as a skinny but still FLABBY person. You CAN be at your goal weight and still look pretty gross in a bikini because you have no muscle definition, just flab.
Also, if this miraculous weight loss is actually true, I'd be willing to bet a LOT that once you reach your goal and stop the pills, you gain weight back and have to start all over again, this time with less muscle, which means lower metabolism, so you have to work even HARDER than you did before the pills.
I'd be VERY concerned if you can't find the ingredients. What kind of company doesn't tell you what their ingredients are? What if someone had an allergy--people need to know what's in these things. It could be something that doesn't have any immediate side effects but still causes you issues in the future. Or maybe it doesn't cause side effects for some people but does for others. Sounds very fishy and unsafe

Ouch...
PhotoChick is abolutely right... even Ephedrine, which is a real fat burner, does not work that fast. It must have something to do with water and muscle losing... I'd be very careful about what I put into my body, on a diet, even.
I suggest you do some research and find out what exactly is in those pills, before you do permanent damage to your body!
It is just impossible for a woman to lose that kind of weight, unless she eats nothing and burns an additional 1500+ calories by workout, which is very hard.
If you have a heart condition, those pills could be deadly! Be careful!

You must be a drug rep.
There is absolutely nothing healthy about a 145 pound woman losing 25 pounds in 30 days. And with no working out? No way, I'm sorry, but if she was 325 pounds and lost 25 pounds in 30 days, I could maybe see that, but 145 is already a low weight to begin with, and I just don't believe that a 145 pound woman could lose 25 pounds in 30 days with no exercise and no large calorie deficit.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but taking drugs for weight loss is just plain ridiculous. Do it the way a real person should - healthy calorie deficit, clean eating, and exercise. No one should ruin there body by putting pills into it when you can do it with just clean eating and exercise.

I'm sorry, but it was never promoted on Oprah. Some websites are saying this as a marketing tactic, as they do for many other products that also were not promoted on Oprah.
Regarding the 'super foods' that are in the product, there isn't enough in there to do any good at all unless perhaps you are a mouse. It's a huge rip-off, I'm sorry

I'm sorry, but maybe it's the ex-New Yorker in me, but I smell a rat here. I hope I'm wrong because anyone who would knowingly seek out forums like this to promote a product, and purposely betray the trust that so many on here seek out....would not be a very ethical person. Like I said, I hope I'm wrong....but my instincts are telling me otherwise.

Hey! I'm new to 3FC. I have read thru so many of the threads and was excited to sign up. I started my weight loss on Jan 24 and weighed in at 273. I am going to a local weight loss clinic and getting B6/B12 and lipotropic shots weekly. I was just wanting to know if anyone had any input on this or if anyone has or is trying this method of weight loss.
1-24-08 - 274 first weigh in
1-30-08 - 268
2-12-08 - 265
2-19-08 - 264

Always look for reputable sources when doing "research" on any new product. NEVER believe what you read, hear or see on TV/radio/online/magazine, etc. ALWAYS look for sources that are unbiased. Look for sources such as consumer digest/report or better yet NIH, FDA, CDC if those are available. NEVER believe what is published by the company that sells the product, they will lie to you to get you to spend your money. These products are not controlled by the FDA and therefore these companies can make any claim they want. Usually I can google a product and find the true information I desire. Just be careful that you have a reliable source.
