Plavsa - does it work?

I was intrigued by an advert I saw recently for Plavsa.
I have looked through various search engines & can find only a couple of adverts, but not real testimonials (apart from in the adverts itself) or reviews.

Has anyone tried this and does it work? If so, is it sustainable? I was a bit worried when the advert actually said it was recommended for a 4 week programme. So, are there side effects also, or problems with continuous use?

Thanks in advance for your help

Plavsa claims to absorb fat so you don't digest it. They are very mysterious, and will not share their ingredient list. I personally wouldn't touch it. It's like taking candy from strangers.

My suspicion is that it is chitosan, which is a product made from seafood shells which is purported to absorb fat and pass it, undigested. However, it was actually shown not to work.

Plavsa

Hey, these capsules are remarkable. I tried them in June and I swear by them. Since then I have taken them religiously and lost 1 stone. I am not too overweight, but now using them to control the weight. When i go out for a meal ie. pizza hut etc. I swallow 2 caps and it makes sure i dont pill that extra cheeze topping.
Hurray. Finally i am so happpy.

What is it? Is it like Alli?

Found out what it is

I ended up asking the guys at Health 2 U Direct. Below is what they have said.

Ingredient is Shelfish Extract 400mg.
Capsule is made of gelatine

Plavsa has 95%DAC chitosan Low density pharmaceutical grade. (patented formula).
BIG difference if you look at the binding capacity of normal chitosan and Plavsa.

I think I'll try it

Well Chitosan has been shown not to work, I'm not sure I'd trust another version of it. Besides, if anything binds fat to it, i'd be concerned because our digestive tracks aren't designed to have fat pass through them so they would have effects similar to Orlistat (Xenical/Alli) in which you can have anal leakage.
