Default Bloodwork

In a previous post i asked if anyone knew why i am always thirsty. So this is kind of an update on whats happening. I went to the doctor and had some bloodwork done. They took sooo much blood. but yeah there are several things wrong w/ me physically that i was hoping the bloodwork would help solve.

Of the things:
I have gone 9 months w/o menstrating
I gained like 35-40 pounds in 9-12 months
I cant lose weight even though i am doing everything right (i have been eating less than 1200 cals and exercising for months and even though i lost weight at first i havent lost a pound for alomost 5 months and ive evn started exercising more)

So the blood work; i am, thankfully, not diabetic but, unfortunatly nothing else was wrong either. I will have an MRI soon and they are going to look at my petuitery (sp?) gland and thyroid and stuff. Hopefully it will give some insight.
If anyone has an idea as to what might be going on please share, anything would be great. And thanks to everyone who responded to my last post!

Sounds like they are doing an endocrinology work-up on you to see if there is glandular/hormonal abnormality that might be contributing to all this. Definitely agree with looking at your pituitary gland with the MRI...lots of hormones are influenced by/produced by this gland. Chances are it will be ok, but with your symptoms, it's definitely reasonable to do the test.

I had to reply to your post right after reading it. Did you ever hear of PCOS? Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Your symptoms sound really familiar to me and I strongly encourage you to check out this link.

This website is awesome and has definitely helped me understand more about PCOS. I am new to this site, but I believe I have seen a support forum about PCOS on here. I have yet to check it out though, to tell you the truth, your post made me register. I have been a lurker for a while now, and decided to join so I could reply to you! LOL. Good luck.

Also, as far as eating less than 1200 calories, that will stall your weight loss. You may have put your body into starvation mode by not giving it enough food. Maybe they will refer you to a dietician to get some advice on what to eat for your lifestyle.
