Default Hiatus hernia/acid reflux?

Does anyone else have hiatus hernia or acid reflux, and find it hard to eat healthy because fruits and veggies cause it to act it up?

Any suggestions or ideas?

Thanks!

I have acid reflux, but only citrus fruits cause it to act up. I don't avoid them though (I love tangerines and I drink lemon water when I'm retaining water). I use generic Cimetidine (Tagamet) and it works perfectly. I buy mine in the 'dollar' section at my grocery store, but I wouldn't know if they are available in Canada. Do you have dollar stores up there?

Also, when you begin to lose weight, the reflux improves. I went from having it constantly to maybe a couple times a week.

I wouldn't recommend cutting out fruits and veggies, because I can't see any dieter being successful without them. I think berries are lower acid and so are the melons. Apples and of course citrus have high acid contents. I don't know about the vegetables. They never gave me a problem.

I can't offer any advice about the hiatal hernia. I don't have that problem.
