Default guaifesenin

Well-I just had an icecream sundae with fat free yogurt-used up a bunch of points plus on that one.Has any heard of the fibro tratment with guaifesenin-an expectorant in cough syrup. I bought a fibromyalgia book today and it is an experimental treatment. The funny thing is that I used to take a decongestant prescription that they took off the market because of that other ingredient that causes strokes. I may try this-its supposed to take the poisons out of your muscles.Good evening to all!!1

Default Hello

Hi Happy Canuk -Candicej and all -- I had a great weekend and now I am paying. I probably won't be able to eat with out a measuing cup ,spoon or scale for a month. I walked so many miles you would not think I could have put on a pound. But that's me... It has always been a struggle.
I hope all of you are starting the week with a better attitude than I am right now It is got to be NEW START for me today.
Got to get busy , See you all later. Joanne

Default Hi All

Just a cute little fellow I found on the net.http://www.castlemountains.com/postc...riendbug.shtml Hope you enjoy him.

Went to the Chiro. this morning and the great news was that the last treatment is holding, so he didn't have to do anything. Will only do a treatment if it has to be done. Gives it a much better change to heal if he just is able to leave it. I feel pretty good, even though we have having such a rainy June. Didn't have any moisture last fall, during the winter or in the spring, so this is needed, but gee, a WHOLE month of it!!. Supposed to be cloudy and showery all week. I hope the weekend is nice, as July 1st is Canada Day and it is a long weekend, so some nice sunshine would really help. I think we are going to go to the mountains this weekend if it does stop a bit.

Joanne - glad to have you back. This eating is such a pain. If you enjoy yourself you are going to pay (lol) As Meme says, all we get to eat are leaves. Anyway it is nice to know that you really enjoyed yourself after all, that is the main thing.

Ally - have TWO brownies for me. I love them. That spray works really well for any pain. I have been using it on my knee and the pain is going away. If I press on my knee if hurts, but just generally it feels better.

Mima - Acupuncture might help. Have you had it before? I haven't tried it for fm but did do it for 12 sessions on my lower back.

Meme and Canadice - are you BOTH to tired to talk to us? Gosh I hope not, and I hope you are both OUT of pain, or at least a tolerable amount is in place. Meme, are you doing ok?

Phyllis, if you see us, Hello. Hope you are doing good.

Now, I was watching TV, kind of flipping around to see what I could find, when I came upon the PBS station in Spokane. A Dr. Edward Taub was speaking about his program called Balance your body, Balance your health. I was really impressed with this. You can go to his website at www.drtaub.com and read about his program. He has a food energy ladder that really might interest you, Ally. Also, he has a wonderful meditation that he did for the audience and I also tired it. It was great. If anyone is interested in learning it, I will put it up here for you. It really works, and you feel really calm after you do it. It is really simple. Also, he had a one day prescription for wellness. That is something I plan to try soon.

I have not tried Guaifesenin. I had a really bad reaction to a bronchial presciption cough suryp with a lot of this stuff in it. Some of the people with fm take it - I can try find some info. for you if you like.

Anyway ladies, hope you all have a great day.

Well...I have an app. with a Chiropractor tomorrow at 4:30...I've printed out the info. from the Uppercervical Procedure website and I'm going to ask him if he knows anything about it. I told them over the phone that I only wanted to come once a week and have the "knots" worked out of my shoulders and back and they seemed ok with that. I don't want my joints popped and I don't want them jerking me around either! I always feel worse when they do that. I just want the Neuromuscular Massage done...I just hope the Dr. is ok with that!!! They said they had a lot of fibro. patients so maybe they can help me! There is a Dr. here that has a lot of fibro patients as well and everybody says he is great. My D-I-L has been to him and she said he worked on her neck and upper back and she is feeling better (she also has fibro but it doesn't bother her all the time). I talked to them today and they are going apply to get in my Ins. group. If they can do that I'm going to change Drs. The one I have now isn't on my Ins. plan anyway and he doesn't have a clue about fibro or arthritis...about all he is good for is flu and to prescribe my meds. (and send me to specialists!!!) I'm tired of fooling around with this mess...it is time I took matters into my own hands because the Drs. are not going to do anythingl unless I PUSH!!! I also have an app. with the Rheumatologist in Nashville the 9th and I'm going to talk to him about Remicade. I'm already on Methotrexate (8 a week) so I know I'm a candidate for it as that is a prerequisite. I already have 4 days in July that I toldl my daughter I wasn't going to be able to keep the kids. I'm really tired and I need to start looking out for ME!!! I set up an app. at the Chiros for tomorrow at 4:30 and then AFTER I made the app. I called my hubby at work and told him he HAD to be home by 4 to watch the kids. I have put other people and their needs before my own all my life but I'm about to the point where I can't go anymore...can't do my housework like I used to...can't teach or play piano like I once did...and I'm tired of always being in pain. I need a pain free, stress free day once in a while anyway!

OK...I'm through now!

Default Hi

Congrats. Mima on your weight loss. You are at least going the right way Perhaps the acupuncture will help. It does good at a lot of things.

Meme - Gee I feel bad for you. This has been going on so long. At least it is finally making you tough Look after yourself before you worry about anyone else, because if you don't look after you first, no one else will! Hope the treatment you get from the Chiro works for you.

Joanne, Candice,Ally,Phyllis - Hello.

Default Interesting reading

This article on FM is kind of interesting. It starts on page 2, because it is where I found the info., regarding Upper Cervical Procedure. Scroll down until you come to Chiropractors and you can read about it, as well, there are links to various other sites re: same. The article itself was quite interesting and there are other pages. Even talks about diet.

Default Good Morning

GoodMorning Happy Canuk -Mima and all... Summer has really gotten here . It was 94 yesterday. I seem to be busy all the time. So I better not notice my pain too much. My Arthritis seems to have a mind of its own.
I did pretty good staying on program yesterday. Noe if I can do that for awhile I will get off a pound or so. If not I said yesterday I was going back to WW. What a failure that makes me feel.
Happy Canuk- You always have such good images. They hit the mark everytime. Thank You.
I hope everyone is feeling better today..

Default Must have been the fog!

Sorry, I tell you how good it is, then forget to put it in Anyway, this lady sells vitamins, but forget about that, and just read the article. It has lots of good pointers. Look on page two under Chiros. It talks about the Upper Cervical Procedure http://www.fms-help.com/tips1.htm

Also, here is a site, that show you how the treatment is actually done. Just scroll to the bottomhttp://www.nucca.org/articles/nucca_technique.htm

So hope you are feeling better today. How did your Chiro treatment go?

Mima - good for you. I may have to break down and go try that diet. It never worked before but it could have been the meds I was on at the time. Will have to look into it. Candice does so well. She is almost a Phantom now, as we don't seem to get any posts from her anymore

Heat, you say. Heat. I want heat. It is wet and cold here and I am sick of it. I know that we needed rain and probably still do need the mositure, but gee whiz, the whole month of June has been ugly - grey and cloudy. Send some heat my way, please.
