Is this hypothyroidism?
I honestly have to say I have been struggling lately. I am tracking my foods on Weight Watchers and MPF - have been consistently between 1600 and 2300 calories per day, around 70-150 carbs per day and I am not losing weight. I feel like I'm incredibly bloated and am retaining quite a bit of water - the heat (without AC) isn't helping.
I've been feeling sluggish for quite a few years now. Had blood tested and was sent to a rheumatologist - they think it might be SLE (Lupus). Been going there every 6 months and blood levels have gotten better, but I am still tired.
I've also always had relatively fine and thin hair. It started falling out right around puberty, got better about 2-3 years ago and now I am shedding again. Skin has also gotten dry and I've had trouble with perioral dermatitis.
To top it all of, my periods are all out of whack. I am on the pill and start having spotting about a week before I am due to have my period. I am convinced that all this has something to do with hormones.
I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday to talk about my symptoms and I hope that he will take blood Friday AM. Their office will be closed for the next 3 weeks but I just want someone to tell me SOMETHING.
How were you diagnosed with hypothyroidism? How did you feel and what symptoms did you have?
