Default Trouble conceiving?

Anyone had kids before they were overweight and then had trouble conceiving after they gained weight? I've never been pregnant before, but never really started trying until recently. I feel that my weight may be my main obstacle. Ideally, I'd like to wait until I lose weight, but I'm 35 and the clock is ticking down..haha. I'm hoping that as I lose weight it will be easier. I used to have sex drive and now it's gone down to almost zero. Anyone else experience these kind of problems with extra weight?

I do not have this problem, but as a midwife, clients consult with me for these issues. Are your periods regular? Look up pcos (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and see if the symptoms fit you, and see a gynecologist, midwife who can prescribe, or a good family doctor if so. As you say, as 35, getting treatment quickly is helpful. Low carb diets are best if you have pcos. (as opposed to low fat or strict calorie counts)
I also have many clients who start off overweight, and gain very little with careful diet while pregnant, and are lighter by their final visit at 6 weeks. They come back having lost by the next baby by eating well and breastfeeding to lose their weight, and do very well. good luck

Assuming you were on contraception before, when did you come off it and what type were you using?
