Default Keep a daily journal

I am a newbie on this forum and to diabetes. I was diagnosed just 2 weeks ago. So far, I am doing good controlling my BG level with diet and execise. Within a week and a half, I was able to bring my BG levels under control by journaling.

I analyze each meal for carbs and calories. I keep track of exercise and BG results. I kept track of time of each meal, exercise and BG test. I quickly saw how different foods and exercise affected my BG level.

I also just recorded my day's events and my feelings. Working through some depression, and the "why me" thing we all do when bad things happen.

I am sure you all do the same type of thing in your own way. I used an Excel spread sheet as I am always on my computer anyway and it was easy for me to look up nutrient values at the same time.

I will share a blank version of my journal with anyone who wants to download it. Just copy the template sheet for each new day.
