Any Type 1's using Symlin? I have used it on and off for 2 years and finally decided to start using it seriously. Used it a year ago and lost 25 pounds then stopped because I got sick and it made me feel worse.
Back on again and totally forgot what a difference it makes! My BS levels have been great! Highest BS in the last 24 hours has been 165! I used to run into the 200+ range everyday. I have the Navigator (CGM) so this is with testing my BS every minute!
Just wondering if anyone else has tried Symlin and what you have thought of it. Anyone else lose weight when on it? I think there is a similar drug for type 2's called Byetta.
Hmm..I've never heard of it before, but for better control and to help me lose weight, my Diabetes Consultant is putting me on Metformin, starting it tomorrow...
I can't stop worrying about it though, as the only issue I'm really having now is my blood sugar after mealtimes
I might have to ask my Consultant about this after chrimbo!
