Whew. Riding my bike on an empty stomach was not the best idea... BSL hit 63, but it's back up now that I ate. I went to Subway, and got the same half assed guy that always makes my sandwiches. He just throws the stuff on and then squirts a tiny, tiny bit of sauce. I ALWAYS have to tell him to put more on there... then, he gives me the same annoyed look every time. I don't blame him, really, if I worked at Subway, I'd be bitter too (though this is a college town - he most likely just works there for beer money), but I don't want a BLAND sub... especially since it was just a veggie sub... yeah, no meat, no cheese, just lots of veggies... and sweet onion sauce
Mickey... I wonder why your sister picks such, erm, ROUGH looking people! There are plentyyyy of girls out there who are into other girls who are not "rough" looking at all. It's just a bad stereotype. Does she live in SF, too? That's, like, the queer capital of the universe! And yeah, my girlfriend is tiny, though naturally so. She eats WAY more than I do and NEVER EXERCISES! Though when we first started dating (two years ago), we wore the same size.
I dated a very short guy once - he was around 5'5". I had almost two inches on him. Now, he's dating a girl who looks to be around 5'9" and HAS to weigh at LEAST 250... she's... a woman of great size! He's a skinny little emo/scene kid - they're an odd couple, but they've been together almost as long as my girlfriend and I have, so I think they're in it for the long haul.

Hey Shane.
I don't know why she does it either LOL.. her first gf was an all out thug and built like a tank lol. but my sis is what they call "sporty" and now dates "fems" but i still think half of them are butt ugly. she doesn't live in SF, she is back home in Sacramento, but she wishes she could live here lol I gotta say emo kids SUCK! thats a whole lot of crying and whinning for no real reason lol. i have a younger cousin that is all emo now and im always messing with him about it like.. what the **** do u have to be angry about LOL. your description of your ex is what we call a 10 back home.. when one person is super skinny and the other is more rounded its like watch the number 10 walk down the street. we have stupid jokes like that back home.
I hear ya on the subway guy lol.. the subway i go to near work, the chicks there just throw your stuff on the bread and when u ask for more of something they look at you all cross eyed. I swear they are just mad that they are on the wrong side of the sandwich counter lol. anywho im off to finish up some work.. sorta

Thin - glad I could make you laugh!
LOL, Mickey, emo kids are... funny. This particular one, although short, was very attractive and very talented - he was a great poet and songwriter... published, even. Look up Mark C. Bradley on Amazon.com - he has a book published called "A Parody of Myself." Ok, here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Parody-Myself-...4351014&sr=8-1 - his face is on the cover.
LOL@ 10's... yeeeah... that's them! It's a lot more common to see a fat girl with a skinny guy than it is to see a skinny girl with a fat guy, though... at least from my observations.
As for "sporty" and "fems"... ahh... the queer gender roles. I'm not even sure how I identify. I'm a little bit tomboyish, like I wear ties and wife beater shirts sometimes, but I have a very feminine personality, wear tight, fitted clothes and am a huge fan of miniskirts and platform boots (except at my HW but that's another story). I've been told that I'm the kind of girl they would cast as a tomboy in a movie, if they still wanted men to find her attractive - slightly badass but not threatening to gender stereotypes. My girlfriend's totally "fem" though... we decided that if we get married, she'll wear a dress and I'll wear a fitted, unquestionably feminine suit custom-made with some awesome designs (either checkers, flames, or spikes).

Hi everyone!
Okay - I have officially survived the week. Not sure how I did - the system crashed at work - we put in some awesome effort and teamwork - and managed to get it done and keep our jobs - provided everything holds together over the weekend. Sigh - I don't know quite what to hope for... LOL The upside of that would be that I would actually have some real downtime - I would have to job hunt though and that sucks - okay I guess I need to hope the system holds up.... LOL
So - I managed to get in some workouts and stay on plan food-wise this week - but between some really late nights and small amount of stress (between someone using my name to get some credit accounts and work) my SL's have been just a wee bit wonky.
Tomorrow morning we should be taking off around 0500 for a weekend away... looking forward to some real relaxation. Supposed to be taking the laptop - but not sure if we will have net connection. If not everyone take care of yourselves and have a great a weekend.
Cassandra - congrats on the job and good luck - you'll do great!!

Good Morning . . .
Well . . . it's another day . . . and not the 13th . . . and not Friday . . . bound to be better than yesterday which was definitely not one of my better ones by any stretch of the imagination.
Things are already looking up -- the humidity is a lot improved around here, thank goodness. My BGL is also a lot better -- 5.3 (95) this morning -- and somehow I don't think it's because of the 700 calories worth of Aero Dark that I added into my 'plan' yesterday afternoon At least I certainly hope it isn't, because my waistline can't afford to eat like that everyday. Certainly did taste wonderful though.
Here's a little semi-related FFFF for today . . .
Between the ages of 30 and 80, we lose 64% of our tastebuds, but our sense of taste still manages to outlast the accuity of all our other senses over our lifetime. Our taste buds are so finely tuned they can detect sweetness at 1 part in 200 and sourness at 1 part in 130,000. The sensitivity to sour probably developed as a protective measure since poisonous foods are more often bitter or sour than sweet.
Hope you have a great weekend away PENNEY.
I got a real kick out of that "10" description too, MICKEY.
Hope the rest of you have a great moving and shaking kind of day planned also. See you all later . . .

Good morning everyone
Penney, sounds like you are on the right track now, with a good week (despite work issues) under your belt, keep up the good work.
and dieting is work, I don't care what anyone says - I feel like I have 4 jobs now, my worky job, my mother job, my wife job and this diet/diabetes combo job.
My BG was 6.9 this morning (124) I have had 2 days of very good eating, and 60 minute cardios (actually I worked out 7 days in a row for 60 minutes) and yet my BG stays at around 7. I don't know what I can do to bring it down. I take 2 metformin a day, maybe this should be increased.
My appointment with the dietitian is at 2pm today, wish me luck!

I went out to eat at this awesome pan Latin place (like Pan Asian, but Latin foods instead... think Cuban, Puerto Rican, and a few south of the border dishes) yesterday and ate well enough to be stuffed, stayed under my calorie limit, AND had a nice perfect BG of 108. Since I've been dieting and exercising, I actually feel much healthier than I have for years. At my HW, I was starting to get strange stomach problems (not sure what, I just never felt good) but they're gone now that I'm... smaller.
Thin - good luck at the dietitian! And I agree with you... dieting IS work. I equate dieting to a commission-based sales job: the more you put in, the more you get from it. If you get the hang of it and do an amazing job, it will be one of the most rewarding things you'll ever have, but if you do it half-assed, you'll get half-assed results and start to hate dieting.

Hi everyone! I lost another 9 pounds!! I figured it was going to be a good weigh in because I could see it in my clothes, but I was figuring 6 maybe, 9 is incredible.
My new weight is 189, and that means I've lost 26 pounds since May 5

Thanks meowee
Can I ask you about those skinny cow things you eat? I can't find them with no sugar added, every package I look at is like 10-15 grams of sugar per bar. Are you finding a sugar free product? or are you eating the sugar ones?
