Hi ladies,

I'm just popping in to update you all. I'll do personals in a day or 2.

As you know, I've been mulling over leaving Ohio and going back to teh Pacific Northwest. I made the decision to go, today. I adore my daughter but I'm doing this for me. I keep coming back to that saying about it's not the things you did that you regret in the end, it's the things you didn't do or something close to that.

My current lease wont be up until winter so I'll be here until then. Besides, I have decisions to make. I have a dear friend who wants to make teh drive with me and then fly back to Ohio. She'll hang out for a few days, after we get there and then catch a plane home.

Have a great Thursday, everyone.

Kathleen - sorry you're having more issues with your son. I wonder a little if he is missing the structure of college? I know it's common for men to feel a bit lost when they finish school and have to face developing a new routine. I hope his therapy helps - it sounds like he has a really good therapist! By the way, what is DBT? I've not heard the term before.

I really love that swim emoticon you bring out when you get back in your pool! He's so happy swimming is really great - I hope you enjoy it now you're allowed to exercise again!

Holly - wow, what a childish work colleague! I don't think they should have been having a word with you about making sure not to upset him - he deserved to be told off. Well it will pass soon enough I hope!

How is the weight loss medication going now? I've never taken a pill myself, the only ones we can get here are the nasty ones that cause anal leakage,or are just a glorified laxative! lots of herbal supplements though! I don't think you're obese according to the BMI (heck, I hardly like to think of myself as obese, and I have 50lbs on you!)

Glad you're getting out on the motorbike and enjoying the summer

Hello Topsy and of course you can join us, please do! wow it sounds like you have really had troubles we you here

Coop - Hi! thanks for your personals The weight loss med is really helping me and I haven't experienced any weirdness that was listed in the LONG med explanation sheet. I am now 159 (have just spent the last 15 minutes trying to update my ticker slider, it sure isn't easy like it used to be here) and that means 10 pounds down from February; but more quickly, 5 pounds down from the date of starting the med (Monday the 12th). I am eating about half of what I was, which sounds like a tiny amount but I was eating alot before When the 30 days is up I have to notify the doctor and we will evaluate. I don't see a difference but I can feel it in my jeans

Lisa - congrats on your decision!! I do hope that it works out. Of course it will be a while but its always good to feel settled in your mind about something.

JesikaB, congrats on the over 2 weeks of no smoking!

Hi to Kathleen and Monica

raining here this morning, so no coffee on the deck, and no motorcycle to work.

The kooky co-worker has been normal 2 days in a row, well now I know that if I have a problem with him, I have to take it to a boss instead of trying to talk to him

Ok ladies. I have decided not to wait until next spring, to leave Ohio. I just want to get out of here. Srsly, I cannot stay here until next spring. I'm not putting my happiness on hold. If things come together like I hope, I'd like to leave early Oct.

I hope you all are well. Much love to all.

topsy81: to the group! It sure sounds like you have been through a lot in a short period of time! Sending you a big hug! I have been hospitalized twice for psychiatric reasons, so I know it's no fun. I am happy that you had the courage to post here. We will support you in any way that we can!

Lisa: I am so happy for you that you have made your decision to move! You deserve to be happy! Where in the Pacific Northwest will you go? Your options are wide open! Go for it!!! Did your mom's house sell?

Holly: I also think it's crap that your superiors basically told you that you have to walk on eggshells around your fragile co-worker. How about maybe the co-worker needs to stop fishing on company time?!? Anyway, glad to hear he's behaved at least two days in a row. Hope it keeps up! Happy to hear that the growth on your hubby's face was benign. That must be a huge relief! Interesting that now he is on the weight loss wagon! As you said, at least you can be on the journey together. Hope you are getting some nice weather and getting out on your bike often!

Coop: It's so good to hear from you! I do think my son is lacking structure, but he is too fragile for a job right now. We are just hoping he will be able to be successful at college fall semester. Things have leveled out again... for now... and all is well for the moment. I am slowly learning to take ONE day at a time! It sure seems like your OH's doctor is taking his good ol' time with this Celiac business! At least they have confirmed the diagnosis at this point if I understood your post correctly. What else are they waiting for? It seems as if they would want him to proceed with a healthier, gluten-free diet as soon as possible. It sounds like you ARE getting closer to that though. Please keep us updated.

JesikaBeth: Congratulations on 17+ days without smoking!!! That is awesome! Hope you are able to resist those strong early cravings and that you are still going strong! My son vapes all of the time. I hate that he is so addicted to it, but he assures me that it is much better than smoking. Happy to hear that you are continuing to make good progress in therapy. That has always been so helpful to me through the years and through all of my ups and downs. I forget... when is your big cruise planned for? It's nice to have something like that to look forward to!

I have been getting out in our pool lately and doing some laps. (that emoticon is for you, Coop! ) It feels good to finally get a little exercise again. I haven't been back on the elliptical yet, though. I need to get back into a serious exercise routine. It is so easy to let the days slip by without getting any structured exercise in. I think I should be okay to walk my dogs again. I couldn't after surgery because one of them often tugs at the leash. Walking with my hubby and pups is one of my favorite natural exercises. Don't know if I've mentioned here that I have a hip injury from a fall I took a year and a half ago that still bothers me often. It is frustrating because sometimes I can't take walks or walk on the treadmill due to hip pain. I really need physical therapy for it (per my doctor a year ago), but I am stubborn and don't want the hassle of more appointments. Anyway, I am currently working with a massage therapist to address the hip pain with massage, stretching, and strengthening with Therabands. The pain is such a nuisance and a hindrance to rigorous exercise. I may need to finally go get it x-rayed if the current plan doesn't work. Anyway, not much else new with me. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Topsy, so nice to see you here taking your little boy to the dino park sounds like a fun time for him!

Lisa - good for you for your decision!! we hope it comes together exactly as you try to plan for it. Yes, do not put your happiness on hold

Kathleen, oh gosh I didn't you you also have to deal with a hip injury! that is too much ... especially that it hindrances your walking the pups! which is such a nice thing to do together wtih husband isn't it. Glad you are getting some laps

and hello to everyone else!!

I have a funny mental image for you , I was working on the yard yesterday, in an area that I have neglected, so I had to weedwhack alot, then got the big clippers and was going after branches that needed it. found a big dead branch on the ground and was TUGGING on it when it suddenly snapped and I plopped backwards down into the weeds and undergrowth glad I was prepared clothes-wise and had on jeans, boots, long sleeves, gloves, and my eye protection! however I banged the side of my leg on the way down and instantly got one of those gross hematomas, instant swelling and blue/black bruise..ugh. But the area looks nice now

gotta get ready for work and make 2 days worth of deliciousness

Hi ladies,

I worked out for the first time tonight. I figured out how to hook up my dvd player and did my first 30 minute work out. I'm going to try to work out every day. My shoulders are tired tonight so we'll see about tomorrow.

Have a good Monday.

way to go Lisa! and you are smarter than me, if you figured out how to hook up your dvd player!

Haven't been on my motorcycle for days and days due to 'unsettled' weather pattern here, pop up showers all the time, and on the cool side .

I have off today and am enjoying it!!!

hope everyone is doing well !

Hello everyone, I have been feeling a little down over my weight. I try hard to not think of myself as a failure but that darn scale seems to rule my life.

Kathleen,
I did not respond to you, I apologize. I am moving to Washington State. The tri-cities area. My mother's house is on contract, at this point, with a tentative closing date of July 14th. Everyone think positive thoughts to me and let's hope this sale goes through. I really appreciate positive thoughts and prayers.

I exercised again tonight. I have a chair exercise dvd. This one works on your posture, arms and core. My shoulders feel like jello tonight.

Hey Holly, hey Coop, and a very big welcome to rdj!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are thrilled to have you with us.

Kathleen - hip injuries are so awful and slow healing! It such a shame it's been affecting you so long, but hopefully your massage therapy will help it to heal.

I'm wracking my brain to think of ways to create structure for your son - it does sound like a job would be too much, but I wonder if there are any volunteer jobs he could take on? Maybe like dog walking at an animal shelter? Or if his college has any extra-credit summer classes?

With my OH we're just waiting for him to have a biopsy - they need to check how badly damaged his intestines are, and he needs to keep eating gluten until then. We have long waiting lists for the local gastro-specialists at the moment (20 weeks!) But I think someone was supposed to arrange his biopsy to happen before he saw the gastro, so it would all be wrapped up in 20 weeks, and that didn't happen. It's just meaning we're 24 a weeks instead. Anyway we have the biopsy date now - it'll be the 18th (3 weeks from now). It's awful how it has fallen though, as the 17th will be the first anniversary of his dad's death
