Default Effexor XR

I've been taking effexor for almost 2 weeks for GAD, OCD & depression and I really haven't experienced too many bad side effects and some of the ones that were bothering me have almost gone away. But the most fantastic side effect of all is I have no appetite at all. I don't even think about food. It's almost as if my obsession of food is gone. I'm not stressed by eating at all either. It really feels great. I wonder if maybe it's not a side effect but something this drug is supposed to be doing for me. For a number of years food and mealtime has been very stressful for me, so it feels good to not have that stress. As a result I've been able to lose a few lbs these last 2 weeks too.

I am really happy for you! I also take Effexor, but I take another med with it that stimulates appetite, so I don't get the benefit of the Effexor.

I am trying hard to combat the increased appetite caused by the medication, but I am having a VERY hard time. I am hoping that a supportive community here will help me out.

Very best to you,
Malka

I take Effexor, but take others meds so I have no idea what my deal is...I just know I'm hungry a lot of the time. And not always head hungry, just plain ole stomach-growling hungry. So, I'm glad to hear you're having a good effect! Way to go!

I had no appetite for the first two weeks, but my appetite definitely came back.

I've been on effexor for nearly 2 months and I still don't have an appetite. Please know I am NOT complaining! lol This is a blessing!

I've been able to stay on plan with no cheats this whole time and I enjoy doing it!

I really believe effexor has changed my life. It's possibly even saved my life.

I feel happy for the first time in my life.

I just started Effexor. Right now I'm nauseated. Yup, one of the side effects. We'll see how that goes.
