Default V8 chili

1lb. or package of turkey or beef
1 48oz bottle tomato juice (V8)
1 can chili beans, drained
1 can dark kidney beans, drained
1 can light kidney beans, drained
1 small can tomato paste
1 green pepper
1 onion
1 clove garlic - chopped
chili powder (don't know exactly how much - at least 1 tablespoon)
ground cumin - probably about 1 teaspoon (don't necessarily need it)
salt and pepper to taste

Cook your turkey half way then add the chopped onion, and green pepper to it. After that is cooked, add the rest of your ingredients. Let it simmer and eat! The longer you cook it, the more flavorful it will be.

I was given this recipe. I would have to guess at the servings... 8 maybe? My family of 4 ate it for dinner and we had enough leftovers for another complete dinner the next night.
The kids sprinkled shredded cheddar cheese and oyster crackers to theirs.

I cooked it as directed above, added it to my crockpot in the morning and cooked it on low all day long. Was great as leftovers the next day for lunch too.

This looks like another great chili recipe. I'm assuming the 48oz. bottle of tomato juice would be the V-8? This is very similar to the recipe we have in the recipe section for Wendy's Chili.

Sorry - yes. I used V8 for the tomato juice part. I didn't see the other chili recipe, sorry if this is too similiar. This is packed with beans and veggie juice, VERY filing. I liked it a lot.

Here's the link to the Wendy's chili http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61342
I make it in the crockpot all the time. The recipes are somewhat similar but the Wendy's one uses unsweetened cocoa.
