Newbie to this site and board
Hello everyone. I'm new here. Hope I'm posting right. I have lost 57 pounds since February of 2005.
I had set my own Christmas challenge, but wanted to find a support group with others on a similar challenge. I have been having trouble because my family has been having a lot of get-togethers and parties. I just love all that party food! Anyway, with my 5ft 1 frame I want to lose 25 pounds, but if I can at least do the 20 pound challenge, I'll be happy. Good luck to everyone else! Don't ever lose hope.

op!
Oh girls... I had a wake-up call today when I saw a classmate I hadn't seen for four months. She was so thin! She lost so much weight! I want to get there!
So I was completely on plan today, for the first time in ages. I had let my calories creep up, had a few too many days that were high.
So today, I ate a balanced 1250 calories. I drank 80 oz of water, which I had really slacked off on. (No diet coke today either!) Finally, I got on my bike. I didn't stay out long because it was raining and cold, but I got out there and did it. Woohoo!
I am with it again, and I will be showing some great pounds lost numbers soon!

Welcome motochic and congrats on your loss already! 57lbs woohoo!
Newday - I have days when I slip too but I'm really determined to make this work for me so I'm trying hard to stick to my plan.
I am so sore this morning from circuit training yesterday. My poor little muscles! Pretty much rest for me today, got the grocery shop to do then light housecleaning and that will be all.
The garden soup recipe sounds lovely, I like veg soup, it's a good way for me to get my serving of veg in.
Have a great Sat all, will check in later.

Hey everyone!
I've been exercising pretty well but not really keeping track of my caloric intake. It is just so hard to plan meals and everything when I am in school. The good news is that I have pretty much gotten rid of my sedentry lifestyle and have been walking at least fourty minutes a day with bike riding and weight-lifting on top of that. I've been pretty stressed out lately which has led to binge-eating and overall poorly eating. The stress of choosing and applying to Universities is getting to all of my friends and me so....bad foods just seem drawn to us now. But after my weight gain I am back on track (mostly) so I hope this one goes better.

Morning .
I'm up bright and early this morning, it's going to be a busy day for me. We're having some friends over for lunch. It's a pot luck type thing with each of us doing a dish. The good news is I'm doing the main dish (beef stew) so I get to pick what goes in it. The bad news is there will be chips and dips so I have to be careful not to overdo it.
Jasonslea - I hope you managed not to kill anyone yesterday and that today is better!

Ughhhh, having a tough weekend again!!! My husband is a bit of an hypochondriac. For the last three weekends he has had "the flu or something" Friday he had me rush him to the ER because he thought his heart was beating too fast. They took 4 viles of blood, gave him an IV for fluids with some adavan and told him he was probably just having an anxiety attack. He has been calling the rest of his family, who strokes his poor me attitude, to share the news that he is feeling bad. He has been obsessing over his health now for weeks! It is driving me crazy!!!! He has always been a bit of a hypochondriac like if someone else says they have a cold or flu he suddenly has a case of the "chills" or if someone he knows gets seriously ill he will start to obsess over his health a little but these last few weeks have been the worst!!!! I don't want to sound unsympathetic. When he truly does have the flu with fever and stuff I do try to make sure that he is reasonably comfortable but I can't take this constant lying around the house and nonstop talk about his "symptoms" !!! Ughhhh!! Sorry I just want to scream!

I read this on another thread .. but thought i would put it here for anyone who may of not seen it .. its pretty good -
Only One Pound
Hello! Do you know me?
If you don't, you should. I'm a pound of fat.
And I am the happiest pound of fat that you would ever want to meet.
Want to know why?
It's because no one ever wants to lose me;
I'm ONLY ONE POUND, just a pound!
Everyone wants to lose three pounds, five pounds, or fifteen pounds, but never only one.
So I just stick around and happily keep you fat.
Then I add to myself, ever so slyly, so that you never seem to notice it.
That is until I've grown to ten, twenty, thirty or even more pounds in weight.
Yes, it's fun being ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT, left to do as I please.
So, when you weigh in, keep right on saying, "Oh, I only lost one pound."
(As if that were such a terrible thing)
For you see, if you do this, you'll encourage others to keep me around because they'll think I'm not worth losing.
And, I love being around you - your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips and every part of you.
Happy Days!!!
After all, I'm ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT!!!

Lynne ~ I managed not to kill anyone yesterday. There were some close moments though. I already have serious road rage and people seemed to be pissing me off on purpose. I must have had a sign pasted somewhere that told all that I was PMSing or something. Then I went to my best friend's wedding reception and the lady who was supplying the deviled eggs (the ONE thing I was looking forward to eating!) took FOREVER and a damn day to get there and I nearly strangled someone! Luckily, all my friends were very understanding.
GoingGoal ~ See this is a reason why I'm glad I'm not married. I probably would have given him a good smack across the head or rolled him off the couch. LOL!
Owira ~ Nice! Thanks for posting that.
I did good today. I've been on plan and I even went to the complex and walked around the track for about 20 minutes. I guess I knocked most of my period cravings out yesterday at the reception.

going goal: I have the opposite problem. I'm the one with health issues and he makes ME feel like a hypochondriac cuz I'm young and I shouldn't be taking meds, etc. I told him one day, which part do you want me to deny? The yeast infection in the ear that causes me not to hear you even more than usual, the bloodshot eyes from allergies, the horrid skin infection on my back, the ibs that has me reeking in excessive gas or doubling over in pain, the toes he helped damage when you accidentally dropped a laptop on them, or the bipolar part? (the last part he does deny but the rest of it is too visible).
Gosh! Hehehe.

Good morning everyone....
Well, just call me Grace. I fell in a parking lot yesterday, and rolled my ankle so badly that I have to go to the doc today. It is sooooo swollen and bruised. What a tard.
My weight and exercise has been awful. Today is a new day and I am determined to get back on the wagon and down the right path. Exercise will still be nill, but I sure can attack the food problem.
Congrats to the losers. Way to rock.
Welcome aboard Chrissy!
Have a wonderful day.
(((hugs)))
