I heard a sermon yesterday that talked about the upside to our "stressors" and it put some things into perspective for me. We may not all believe in the same God, but we can all be thankful for the things we have been given!
A couple of things from that sermon I will share with you:
"I'm thankful for the piles of laundry because that means my loved ones are around me!"
"I'm thankful for the clothes that are a little tight because that means I have food to eat"
"I'm thankful for the mess to clean up after a party because that means I have friends who care enough to spend time with me"
I'm creating this thread as a place to come when we are having one of those days when we are overwhelmed or can't think of anything positive...because we all have them! And here is where we can remember to be grateful for even the "stressors" in our lives!!!
I'm grateful for pain in my back because then I know I am alive and have feeling!
I'm grateful that 5:30 or 6am will come early in the morning because then I know I have some place to go every day! A purpose!
I'm grateful for the agony I feel during this journey when I can't seem to shake the "woe is me" feeling because I remember that through agony comes defeat!!!
I'm grateful for all my chickies each and every day for without them I would not be travelling this road!!!
Today I feel thankful for the ability to be able to walk 1.5 miles after an exhausting day! I sat next to a woman tonight at a meeting who is suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis...she is only a few years older than me. I realized that God has given me the ability to do so much!
I am thankful for hearing leaves crunching under me when I walk because I know that the hot weather is gone and cooler weather will soon be here! And then Spring will soon be back!!! And with Spring comes renewal! I love the change of seasons and the sounds and smells and sights it brings! I am thankful to be living where I can enjoy all 4 seasons...and savor in it a while!
I am thankful for all the chicks here on this site! You are all so awesome!
