Welcome Finallyfreekelly! Jump right in with your plan. We are happy to have you.

It seems we have lost a couple people. I hope they come back. We can't give up on this, even if we're struggling. We have to stick with it and get every pound we can.

I squeaked through to Onederland again, by a hair. This time I don't intend to bounce back up, but continue downward. I only have 10 days to get another 4 lb loss to hit my goal but I'm hopeful, and I will be happy to get whatever I can, as long as it's a downward trend.

Valentine's Day Challenge

Challenge Begin Weight: 203
Challenge Goal Weight: 195.5
Challenge End Weight:

1/1: 203
1/7: 202
1/14:204 + 2lb
1/21:200.5
1/28:202
2/4: 199.8

Ally thank you for taking up the mantle of posting the challenge for 2018. At the beginning of the year I wasn't posting much here and didn't know if I was wanting to be responsible for it.

Looking at the thread so far, I need to also shout out Carol for being a great cheerleader!! Nice to see you get to Onderland!!

That being said, I'm joining in!! I had been tracking January on another thread so I'm not far behind on posting.

Hi Folks,

Good to see you Laura. I agree your weight loss is impressive!

Carol I laughed out loud when you talked about your husband. My late husband ate junk food all day and still weighed the same as in high school. (6'2", 175) It was so infuriating! At least he was kind enough to keep his junk food in his car or a high cupboard reserved just for that.

I have had very little exercise this week. It was really demotivating to not be able to go to the gym, and I stayed at home all weekend. Thanks for your thoughts about the Super Bowl. I am looking forward to life as usual tomorrow or the next day! Food was pretty much as usual.

Welcome Finallyfreekelly This is a very warm and welcoming community.

finallyfreekelly Welcome!! What are your goals?

carol CONGRATS on getting back on plan and back into onederland!!!

wallace How have you been doing?

laura Nice to see you join the year long challenge! Awesome job getting to goal so early!!!

active Its over!! Hopefully, they are quick to get all the roads back open so that you can get back to the gym.. great job on staying on your food plan despite the upheaval from SB 52!~

As for me. I had an AWFUL weekend.. every single day I overate/binged. I am staying off of the scale until the end of the week, but I am back to my plan as of today.

Hi Everyone!

Wannabehealthy YAY! on the downward trend. And, being back in the Ones. Woohoo!!

activeadventurer, congrats on surviving SuperBowl mania. Lol. I wish you a healthy happy week! Stay strong!

flower1, congrats on the lbs loss and sticking to your plan this past week. Feels so good doesn’t it!?

LauraRVA42011, nice to meet you! And wow! on your weight loss journey. Very impressive!!! May I ask what you have done to achieve your fitness thus far? Is it diet/exercise or more of one vs the other? Kudos to you!

kfunk6113, we all have those days where we indulge and venture off plan. I feel you! What is your food/exercise plan for the “recovery” week? I continue to weigh myself everyday and it is really helping me stay focused and work through disappointments. I am very grateful to you for that suggestion!

Any other tips from our fearless group are most welcome!!

As for this past week and it being my Monday weigh in time again…. Got my food plan just about locked in (lower carb diet). Went to gym class 4x last week and have been walking a bunch too -don’t really have a choice with that one as a dog(s) Mom. Good news is I surpassed my V Day goal. So, the new goal for the next couple of weeks is to totally lock in the eating plan and keep the exercise up. Will revise the lbs for the next mini-challenge. Sending good vibes to all for this week!!

Challenge Begin Weight: 204 lbs
1st Challenge Goal Weight: 198 lbs
Challenge End Weight: 150 lbs

1/22: 204
1/29: 199.8
2/5: 196.6

Thanks for the welcome all!!

KFunk while on paper I'm at my goal, that was BSB (aka Before Super Bowl - LOL). I am also travelling this week for work, so I'm going to do my best to remain at that goal by 2/12. Right now, I had a huge bump up on the scale after Sunday's eating choices, and I'm back on my plan but aware that in the days before the last weigh in, I'll be praying I have returned to hitting my goal.

Wallace - in short, my first 60lbs were by following the Medifast program until September/October when I burned out on the foods. They do work, I did lose a lot, but it's not a long-term lifestyle. I started using the NOOM app on my phone in October and it's taken until this past month for me to see actual progress. It offers great psychology exercises and advice with daily tasks to accomplish. They give you a personal coach and put you in a team of users at the same point in your weight loss journey to have group discussions - not unlike our discussions here on 3FC.

In January, using lessons learned from both Medifast and NOOM, I signed up for Diet Bet which gave me more of an incentive to stick to my program. I stayed within my caloric assignment, made sure I drank lots of water, committed to a daily minimum 30 minute walk and added activity where I could. I fell short of my bet goal by 0.2lbs partially because I started late, and learned too late the danger of sodium and how it can increase your water weight so much. My last two weeks posted weight loss is due a lot to sodium retention at the start and successful reversal of it by the end.

I have signed up for another Diet Bet and hope to lose my full goal and hopefully a bit more.

Default Thanks for warm welcome!

So grateful y'all are welcoming, and I hope those that are missing out soon return. I struggle with depression and have gotten down on myself in past for mistakes or regains- but I want to just keep returning to health this time ( once I get there!)

So I am not good about daily posting but will check in weekly here and hope to give support too.
I'm at my heaviest weight ever recorded on my home scale (and I haven't even cared to disrobe 100%as I feel quite angry at myself for recent life choices). But I am free to choose better now .

Begin weight 1/23/18: 241lb.
Started low carb with IF attempts.
2/1/18: 236 lb.
2/8/18:
Valentines goal 231 !
2/15/18:

Wishing all a great week.

wallace Thank you for your support!! My plan for the week will be keeping my calories in goal range and drinking plenty of water. I would also like to get on the treadmill a couple times (very busy week with work). I am going to put together a plan for the weekend. I will decide my meals and snacks ahead of time and estimate the times that I plan to eat them. You crushed your Valentine's Day goal Great job getting to the gym and walking in addition!! Do you have a carb range that you like to stick to? You are doing great!!

flower Thank you . I am getting sick of whining about things that are in my control so I am going to turn things around right now so that I am in the best spot as possible for Summer.

Laura BSB I hope that traveling for work goes well and the sodium flushes out soon! Drink extra water!! NOOM sounds fantastic, is it expensive to sign up for? Good luck on your current diet bet!!

finallyfreekelly Congrats on your 5 lbs lost, that is fantastic!! I am so sorry to hear about your struggle with depression, I can relate

Kfunk thanks! I signed up for 8 months because I wanted to lose 70lbs. I think, though, I've seen where they have a free version maybe? Not sure how the app will look after my 8 month plan is done, I'm guessing my personal coach will stop reaching out and there will be fewer articles, that it will turn more into a tracking app. I signed up in October and prepaid until June I guess. Came to $159 for 8 months. I think the most I learned and the best benefits came from the first 4-8 weeks. That's when they had the most activities that help make good habits into instincts. After the third month, things have quietened down significantly, so if one were to sign up, and prompted with how much they want to lose, I'd recommend saying 20lbs and see if they prompt you to sign up for 2 months.
