wantochange - Oh man, how awful that your apt was broken into! I'm glad you're ok. Good plan to verbalize limits on your hours, so it doesn't become a chore. I know how it feels when the scale just won't drop and even goes up. That was me last month, but now I'm finally losing. Stay in the game, and it'll happen.

wanttochange oh my gosh that's awful! I'm so glad you're ok!
Thank you to everyone for all the kind words and encouragement this week! It feels amazing to have a community of support around me. I think it's going to make all the difference with moving forward and staying motivated.
My neighbor and I walked 5 miles yesterday, and I probably drank at least a gallon and a half of water. It's still in the high 80s to mid-90s here in Colorado. I didn't really weigh in this morning because I know a few pounds of it is going to be water weight. By Monday I should be back to normal!
wantochange That is horrible that your home was broken in to. I am glad that you and your husband were not harmed in the process! I hope that you are able to cut down on your volunteering and that your stress subsides very soon. Its nice that your husband is joining you!
jrk awesome job on your 5 mile walk and water consumption!!
7 lbs. yikes. Our party went well, and now its over and I don't have an excuse to go off plan until Labor Day weekend. I feel awful. This is the range where I usually end up giving up and going back to my unhealthy ways, but it wont happen this time. ETA: I am not going to update my ticker until the week is over.
kfunk6113: I'm always amazed at how fast my body likes to gain compared to how slow it likes to lose. Drink lots of water. Hopefully, a few pounds will flush out that way. If I've been eating high-sodium foods, especially things like hot dogs, that usually works for me.
July Goal: 97kgs (-1.9 kgs)
1: 98.9 kgs
2: 98.65
3: 99.05 (oops! wrong way!)
4: 98.9
5: 99.2 (not to worry -- that's from salt, not calories)
6: 99.1
7: 98.8
8: 98.7
9: 98.65
10: 98.9 (soy sauce, again)
11: 98.6 (yay! new low for the month)
Got into kind of a slump/mental health thing - for whatever reason I always get super depressed in July, which is also my birthday month - but after work today I was at 257.8. Should be back on track.
jrkessle: July is always hard for me. Around here, it's when the mold count picks up so I'm struggling physically. I get malaise rather than hay fever with my allergies. Ick. And, then, it didn't help that my mother died in mid-July in 2005, just a day after my parents' wedding anniversary. Even the years that I forget all that, I end up depressed without knowing why. It's better the years that I remember those anniversaries so at least I know what's hitting me.
So, do you have any strategies for getting through the July slump?

gardenerjoy July is the month one of my grandpas died two years ago. And then august is the month my other grandpa died 6 years ago. Summer time in general I get way more depressed than fall or winter. The heat has something to do with it too, I'm sure. I've found that sticking to a routine and making sure I'm communicating with people when I'm feeling down, as well as continuing my evening walks with my dog helps a lot. Consistency is key for me.
jrkessle: sticking to a summer routine sounds like a great plan! Thanks!

Post 3.76 mile hike today I was 258.2, which is somewhat disappointing because I wanted to be below 257.8 when I got back. But we've been walking about 15 miles a week, so I know I'm building muscle as well. My clothes are fitting better and I can physically see myself slimming down. It's just frustrating to not see the number on the scale moving. I'll get there!
