daydreamer omg, I know what you mean, it is so hard to be patient. Nothing about this is a fast process and its killing me! It will be 7 months for me tomorrow and I am half way there. The first half was probably the faster half so I have a long road ahead of me. You are doing great!! I think part of the reason I haven't given up (like all the other times) is because I found this website

joyful Congrats on meeting your mini goals!! I hope that you have a great week and lose that lb. plus some!!

running and rdj welcome, it is nice to have you guys join!!

running Your goals sound great! What is your daily step goal?

kfunk6113: My step goal is 10,000 for now. If I meet it consistently over the next two weeks, I'm going to increase it to 12,500

running 10k is amazing!! I do about 3500 on a typical day (I have a desk job and don't work out). I think my highest was 7500, and I have been horrible about wearing my fitbit the past couple weeks. One day I will get my butt in to gear. GREAT JOB!!!!

jrkessle I am so glad that you losing again!! Maybe that is just the break your body needed, I am so impressed that you did so great maintaining. I am scared to get to that point (long ways to go though!)

kfunk6113: I'm on my feet quite a bit at work and usually make 10-12k steps in a shift. My actual goal is to get as many steps on my days off as I do when I'm working (because lately I've only been getting a third of that on my off days ). I was pretty bad about wearing my Fitbit also. I bought a new one the end of May as a reminder that I need to get serious about all of this and that has helped. Hope you're having a great day!

kfunk6113 that's my big fear too! I've read that once you lose the weight, it's important to still weigh in a couple times a month to make sure you're staying on track and so it doesn't get out of hand again.

kfunk6113: You know I have thought of that... the closer you get to your goal the slower you lose. So If, for example, on a 2 lbs a week rate... If I am barely making it to 2 lbs now, I'll probably be losing even less then. But you know, I think as you lose more and more, you are in kind of less of a rush. I could be wrong, but I am hoping once I 50% ish done or 60%, then I'll feel more comfortable in my own skin. Just a thought.

RunningRedHead: Oh I am sooo guilty of drinking my calories, but you know... I love it. There is nothing nummier for me than a cup of warm milk and coffee. And soup! And I have noticed that when I step out of line or I am stalling, if I drink my calories mostly it helps me lose the next morning!

I've been very diligent about exercise and it looks like I will probably be able to make my goal a reality. I may even surpass it. Yay! My waist has shrunk a full inch and a half and I feel it when I get dressed in the morning. My clothes are starting to look better on me. I can see the difference, and it feels so good.

Beginning waist measurement: 42 in.
Goal waist measurement: 39 in. (or more!)

June 9 - completed first week with alternating weights and cardio. I exercised for about 20 minutes every day with 2 rest days.
June 16 - did my exercises 3 out of the planned 5 days, had two rest days, two cheat days, and got up to 8000 steps/day this week.
June 23 - did 5 exercise days/2 rest days - 2 cardio, 2 weights, 1 yoga; added a probiotic supplement; eating limited carbs and almost no sugar.
June 30 - This week - 3 cardio, 2 weights, one yoga, one rest day - switched eating peanuts and cashews for walnuts, pistachios, and macadamia nuts, added in more vegetables, still watching the sugar, trying to eliminate all highly processed food.
Waist measurement - 40.5 in.

DayDreamer26: I forgot about soup Doing mostly liquid when you stall sounds like a great idea to consider, I may give that a shot on Monday if I keep trending up (it’s a slow trend, but a trend nonetheless).

Magistra17: Wow, way to go!

runningredhead I like your plan of trying to get as many steps in on off days as you get while working!! I am going to start working out this month. I have posted about it so now have no excuse not to!

jrkessle That is a really good idea!! I think that I have a better shot at maintaining this time because I could eat this way forever, I do not feel deprived at all. If I over indulge one daily, than the next my body seems to regulate itself and I am not as hungry. I have so many fears about this process it is unreal!!

daydreamer I totally agree. I feel much less rushed knowing that this isn't the kind of diet I have gone on in years past. I have lost 61 lbs. and my confidence is so much better now. I still , and I am not quite there yet would like to rock short shorts (before I get too old) and look good in a swimsuit and without clothes on. I have 10 months until next spring/summer to make that happen. I really need to focus on toning because I can already tell that I am going to have a lot of loose skin. I don't think that I will be able to afford a tummy tuck.

I need to start weighing in once a week instead of daily. 260.4 this morning.

261 this morning. Should be back under 260 tomorrow morning. I've worked two back to back 10 hour days with only about 5 hours sleep each night. I'll be back to a more consistent schedule tomorrow, and not sleep deprived anymore!
