Default Good Morning

Good Morning All
Great to see some interest in the challenge, by now you should have cleaned out cabinet & refrigerator and stocked with healthy options. If you do not plan than you can plan to fail. Be committed and work your plan, if you do not have a plan; get one. SP has plenty to choose from and you can log as you go. The secret is to drink 1/2 of your body weight in water and weigh yourself every day. The water will flush out toxins and fat, weighing every day will help keep you on track. There are NO CHEAT days! If you CHEAT, you set your weight loss back one week. So when you feel like cheating, ask yourself if its worth a week of your hard work. Be serious and get the job done, you will be so glad you did in 90 days. Everyone will be able to tell if you are cheating by your weigh ins, please always be honest. This will help us to give advise or help when you need it. Now work your plan and be committed and we all will be doing the happy dance at the end of the 90 days.
Have a great day
BCL

Hi, fellow challengers!
Just checking in!
I think I will see a gain this Sunday since I binged on Monday and I've stopped restricting calories so much since then, but I hope to be at the -2 lb/week afterwards!

Talking Hello

Hi brd88
Glad you are checking in, I hope the binge doesn't cost you a week of work. Each time you binge, it sets you back a week. It takes your body that long to start burning fat again. My weight is going slow and that usually happens when I get close to wonderland It wants to stay at 200 and I have already lost 17.5 pounds sense 2/20. I get so frustrated when it stalls. Hang in there and stay the course and you will be fine.

Hey guys!! I started lifting weights last night and along with that and the fact that I am due for my TOM, I am not sure that I will see a loss this week, but I am confident that if I keep lifting and eating well that my average will come out to 2 lbs per week!

Britt Sounds like you have a good plan!! You still have many days until Sunday, its not too late to see a loss!! I have heard that a lot of people talk about drinking extra water after a binge and that helps flush out the bloat and regulates the scale.

BCL You are so close to onederland, that is awesome!! I hope that your stall doesn't last too much longer, it can be so frustrating!!

I hope that everyone is doing well!!

BCL - yeah, I definitely hear you. Unfortunately, I have binge eating disorder, so it's really important for me to try to make changes for a sustainable lifestyle instead of focusing solely on the scale like I had been in the past. After Monday's binge, I now know that restricting too heavily (regardless of what kind of food I am eating) leads to binges for me, which is obvious to most, but it's a lesson I really had to learn. I have spent the majority of my life vacillating between restriction and binging, so just giving myself the permission to eat more to avoid binging is a big deal for me. Knowing that, I am making changes. I may have lost a week weightwise, but I gained more knowledge that I hope will lead to consistent losses in the future!
Congrats on the 17.5 pounds! I'm sure it will start moving again, and you will be well on your way! I can't wait to be firmly at a 17.5 pound loss! At 161, I had lost 18, and I can't wait to be firmly there and binge-free.

Kelly - yeah, you are definitely right, but I am one of those few people who has always drunk water by the gallon without even thinking about it!
But you are exactly right. I know a lot of people who are able to seemingly flush away their binges. I would get so frustrated because I had friends who would literally just drink an extra 4 cups of water everyday and lose like 10 pounds. I don't know if that would work for me, though. I'm almost afraid to drink more

ETA: great job on lifting and eating well! You go, girl! I do usually show a gain when I get heavy into lifting, but the body composition changes are sick! Because of it, I look smaller than I did when I weighed 15 lbs less. Maybe you should try doing measurements instead?

Welcome, JK!

I am abandoning OMAD for now after really struggling yesterday. I need to focus on working through my binging behaviors, and I think my body is confusing fasting with starving right now (maybe because I am dealing with a lot of other stressors), and the urge to binge always escalates when I have been restricting. I have never had problems in the past with not binging while practicing IF, but this time seems to be very different.
For now, it was recommended by a friend who also has BED to try eating something small 5-6 times a day (at least every 3 hours). I usually experience hunger and want to eat around 11 everyday (I work a 11-7 schedule), so I will be eating a pattern of 11, 2, 5, 8, and 11 (this will likely just be my regular glass of wine before bed). I think this will be a better way to thwart binging and help me to lose those 2 pounds per week.

Thank you!! I am really excited to see the changes in my body!! Do you remember how long it took to see a physical change? How often did you measure? I took Wed, and Thursday off but will lift again tonight!!

Hopefully eating more often will be the ticket for you!! I said this in another thread too, but you are doing a great job looking for what will work for YOU!

BCL How have things been going for you? I am excited but a bit anxious for the weigh in tomorrow! Interesting tidbit about the coconut oil! Do you know what about it helps with weight loss?

I hope that everyone has a fantastic Friday!!!

BCL - thanks for the tip! When I was following keto, I ate coconut oil a lot, so this is a good reminder for me! How are you coming along?

Kelly - Honestly, I noticed after about 2 weeks. It seems as though my body builds muscle very easily. I never actually measured, even though people always told me to. I could never seem to do it and feel like it was accurate. Instead, I took pictures once a month, and I noticed my clothes getting looser almost every 2 weeks or so. I think I was able to drop like 3 pounds a month, but I was noticeably smaller.

Hello Everyone
Glad everyone is doing well. Britt great job keep up the good work. I have been drinking half my body weight in water for the last month and a half. It really makes a big difference.
Kelly your are luck that your body builds muscle so easily and that you are seeing some great changes in cloths and pictures.

I am at a plateau and I want it gone now, I know I must be patient and it will move again soon. I hope. We must enjoy every day and embrace the changes in body and mind. Stay focused, committed and keep moving forward.
Everyone have a great weekend.
