I moved up from Charge to Surge because the Charge didn't show the time unless you pressed a button, and I wanted just to see the time when I raised my wrist. I also liked the GPS option and I think at that time only the Surge had GPS. Both were good, and yes, if either of them (or the newer Blaze or Alta) had had the elegance of something like PebbleTime Round, I'd probably have stuck with it. They're both a bit clunky looking, and the plasticky strap is uninspiring.
I don't wear a watch and enjoy that I can tap on my striiv or use to tap on my fitbit ONE before it popped out and got lost, to see the time. I think the plastic straps on the wrist fitbits are uninspiring also. Not exciting about summer sticky on my wrist, so not sure what I will get as an alternate to my current striiv (in case the pin pops out and gets lost again.)
