Thumbs up May Exercise Challenge

The Merry Month of May -- for dancing around the May Pole and less fanciful forms of exercise.

State your exercise goal and track it throughout the month with this supportive group of fellow exercisers. We'll compile our workout goals into a list. As each goal is met during the month, it gets turned RED in celebration.

This thread is for fitness and exercise goals. For other weight loss goals, be sure to see our sister thread: May Weight Loss Challenge

Do ONE T-25 Alpha workout daily, no more than 5 missed days. Stretch counts, but only 1/week

...practicing for May...swam 15 laps today...had to hold myself back and start up slowly again...sadly, my left shoulder has been affected by the lapse in exorcising . Ha! I need to take my scarf and gloves out of my swim bag...it's been that long! I feel so alive; I sure hope I can keep this up the entire month.

Looks like May's gonna be hopping!

I successfully completed my goal of 1000 minutes in April, moving up to 1100 minutes for May.

Three months in a row I have fallen short of my goal!

I guess I better aim for a modest 500 minutes of intentional exercise... hip replacement surgery is coming in early June!

5/11 60 min swim
5/12 45 min swim
5/14 45 min swim
5/15 40 min swim; 55 min walk
5/17 40 min water walk
5/22 45 min swim
5/23 30 min water walk
5/24 30 min water walk

TOTAL MINUTES: 395

Default Don't know where to start

Okay - I like "Sassy" and "SeeMyFeet" am not and have not been one to exercise consistently. When younger -- 30 some years ago -- I baled hay, rode horse, bowled, played tennis... but never really saw that as exercise - just fun. Today I cannot do any of the above.

My goal for May is the following:
- Walk 3 times a week - 10 minutes each time
- Chair yoga or chair exercise 2 times a week - about 10 minute circuits

Total time = 220 minutes
Not exactly as I planned for exercise -- but 5/30 at 235 minutes

to everyone in meeting their goal!

WOW -- so not doing this yet -- am I??

5/10 - 20 min - line dancing
5/14 - 50 min - walked my arsh off!
5/20 - 20 min - walking downtown
5/21 - 60 min plus (1.75 hours in walmart)
5/22 - 11 min - an ACTUALLY - I went out and walked walk!!
5/23 - 30 min - gardening (does that count??)
5/25 - 11 min - I took a walk again today

OH MY GOSH!! MY knees are feeling pain-LESS!!!
My left knee ... which 85% of the time, since scope in 1/2014, felt like a knife was stabbing it...
However, Wednesday a person prayed (YES PRAYED) over my knee ... and I have been pain free
since Wednesday. I speed walked through the grocery store ... the only time I've done this in the
last 10 years ... has been when I was on prednisone!! I'm NOT on prednisone!!

5/29 - 10 min - speed walking in grocery store!!
5/30 - 23 min - walking in wooded park (it was fun and less than a mile away. I will do this more!)
5/31 -

Didn't have a stellar start to the month. Ds's baseball tournament went from early early to late. Got in a little walking but not the DVD and I am pooped. How is sitting in the sun for 10 hours so damn tiring!
