Dee - Hope things go well with the doctor! I like the interchangable bands for the Fitbit as well. I'm one of those people who likes to match accessories to what I wear, so I suspect I'll end up with one in every color before too long.
Laura - Hope you enjoyed your vacation day!
A little less walking this week. It's getting colder and more rainy here in my little corner of WA.
Hi Blicca. I think those are great counts. What part of WA do you live in? I vacationed in the Pacific nw about 5 years ago - Vancouver, Seattle, Olympic Ntl. Park. Such a beautiful area. As for my steps, unfortunately I actually will be getting more steps on my pedometer during the colder months because I will stop riding the bike for part of my commute and walk it. In the past I've also gotten dropped off and/or picked up at the Train station, but that will likely not be possible starting next year due to a job situation with my bf.
This week I forgot to wear my pedometer on Monday and today, so frustrating.
Dee- How are you doing?? Hope the knee pain is easing up.
Laura - I'm currently living in the Eastern half of WA near Idaho, but I'm originally from the Olympic Nat'l Park area! It's gorgeous over there, and DH and I are looking forward to heading back over there for Thanksgiving. That's great that you bike commute! That's something I'm looking to start doing this spring.
My step numbers are up this week, which makes me happy. I'm trying to re-start the Couch to 5k program, but so far I've only gotten the first one in.
Hi Blicca. Hope you're having a happy Halloween today. I've never been to the eastern part of WA. Nice you'll be nr the Olympic natl pk soon. Enjoy!! I'm impressed by people who take up running, but it's just not for me. Besides, I feel like I've gotten this far in life (early 50's) without knee problems, why take chances now, lol. I hope you reach your running goals. I think doing 5k's would be motivating.
Visited kids and grandkids. Could really tell how overweight and out of shape I am in that altitude. Whew! Hard enough to keep up with grandkids even when you AREN'T huffing and puffing!
LM, nice to travel for pleasure! I'm in MO this week helping my mom pack up and move. Not a pleasure and certainly not leisure trip! But, she'll be back in our hometown near my sis and I now and that's good. Can't wait for this to be over.
I did great with steps Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 12,335, 16,851, 17,925. I started logging back on "Lose It!" as of yesterday. I had lost 10 pounds relatively quickly doing that, and then gained it back when I quit being accountable. I received a "fitbit calorie bonus" of 225 Fri, 709 Sat and 771 Sun! I love the way it automatically dumps in that bonus! It gives you incentive to accumulate those steps. LOL. I work double shifts Sat and Sun, so yesterday I didn't even put fitbit on, but stayed within calories as determined by "Lose It". I'm going to pit fitbit back on today and try to get at least 10,000 steps. Election Day Madness has begun in Ohio!
Oh, Laura, I forgot! Where in MO are you? I drove through MO on I70 on my way to CO. I stopped in KS to visit my parents and then went on to CO from there.
What a great thread! I have a Fitbit One that I got as a present for passing my boards last year! Maybe this group will help me stay accountable. My daily goal is set for 10000 steps, but I count it as a win if I get over 6000. Now that I'm back into weight loss mode, I'm going to work hard at getting the 10000 steps as much as possible.
