Thumbs up January Exercise Challenge

January is a great month to challenge yourself to develop better exercise habits! What goals can you set and meet to get 2016 off to a terrific start?

State your exercise goal and track it throughout the month with this supportive group of fellow exercisers. We'll compile our workout goals into a list. As each goal is met during the month, it gets turned RED in celebration.

With weather making my steps difficult some days, I'm going to give myself just a little more leeway than in December.

My January 2016 goals:
1200 minutes
8 strength-training sessions
23 days with 8000 steps or more

Hi all,

It's summer here in NZ and I'm on school holidays until the end of January as I'm a teacher - so I want to make January count as much as I can .....

Gym training at least three times a week...... Accept for the week I'm at the beach .....
A walk at least four times a week ......

Goals -
c25k program start
cardio for at least a mile a day ( preferably in morning)
practice yoga, muscle and balance exercises daily (10 minutes)

2 stretch per week

1/2/2016 - 1 cardio/1 Strength & tone - t25 cardio and 21 day fix dirty 30
1/4/2016 - 1 strength/1 stretch - t25 alpha total body circuit / barre 3 core and stretch
1/6/2016 - 1 cardio / 1 stretch
1/7/2016 - 1 strength / 1 stretch p90 scuplt B, barre 3 leg and stretch
1/9/2016 - 1 strength 2/3 of jillian michaels shred it with weights (you tube) . She started doing moves I just wasn't ready for, but I got a good sweat in.
1/11/2016 - 1 cardio / 1 stretch
1/12/2016- 1 strength, not feeling well so no stretch I know I'll regret it later 21 day fix upper and lower fix.
1/16/2016 - 1 strengh/1 cardio michelle dozio cardio strength
1/17/2016 - 1 cardio t25 cardio
1/19/2016 - 1 cardio t 25 total body circuit, wasnt as hard this time, but i also do the modification. NSV I can get up and done to do stuff without have to use a chair, I'm slow, but I can do it.
1/20/2016 - 1 cardio 21 day fix total cardio
1/23/2016 - bob harper youtube workout 40 min 1 cardio, 1 strength, tried to do some stretch with piyo, just to fast for me to modify and do the moves, but I stretched.
1/24/2016 - p90 sweat - leslie sansone pilates
1/25/2016 - the firm: cardio inferno
1/26/2016 - fitnessglo strength class. kinda light, working on finding what works.

10/8 cardio
8/8 strength
8/8 - stretch

3Jan 20 min Classical Stretch; 10 min elliptical
7Jan 45 min walk
9Jan 80 min walk; 20 min Classical Stretch
10Jan 40 min walk, 20 min Classical Stretch
11Jan 45 min walk
16Jan 20 min exercise bike; 10 min Classical Stretch (am)
23Jan 30 min classical stretch; walking
25Jan 70 min walk (whew!)
........Note to self: gonna have to do about 40 minutes almost every day to make goal now.......

Week 1 - complete
12/31- cardio (4 mile walk)
1/1- weights, abs, cardio (c25k, walk at rail trail)
1/2-off
1/3-yoga, abs, cardio (rail trail, c25k, w1d2)
1/4-strength, abs, cardio (30 min walk at work)
1/5-cardio (ex bike 45 min, 9.8 miles), yoga
1/6-cardio (walk 30 minutes at work), strength, abs
1/7-cardio (walk 30 minutes at work), yoga
Yoga 3x, strength 3x, cardio 6x

Default 2016 goals

My goal is to start exercising. Will do 30 minutes 6 days per week and work on losing weight.
I want to be healthy...its not just about the weight loss.
So excited to have found a place to give and receive support.
