JB:
"So, BFR, share what kept you full on 530 calories."
I would not say full so much as just plain lucky to not get hungry.
I started the day out with coffee as usual, and give 20 calories a day to the creamer I use in a 12 cup pot of coffee.
I usually eat my herbs for another 20 calories but for some reason yesterday did not eat any.
About 10:am I decided to eat though I was not hungry yet and did not want to get hungry. I heated up some vegetable gumbo I made with brown rice, okra, onion, squash, tomatoes and spices... Cumin, coriander, cayenne, thyme, oregano, chili New Mexico, lime, Tajin seasoning (unknown chilies, lime and salt), Choula hot sauce (similar to tobbasco sauce, except made with chili de arbol and chili pequin) about 12 oz figured in @ 250 calories.
That did fill me up well. At about 6:30 I decided to eat something, I was not hungry yet but wanted to not get hungry. I waivered about heating up some more vegtable gumbo, or cooking a chicken breast, or some salmon with a brown rice. Then instead I opted for popcorn. Popped 2 1/2 oz popcorn in 1 tsp oil and gave about 1/4th portion to one of my dogs which she ate eagerly and wanted more. The popcorn was 205 calories, the oil 40 = 245, and the dog got 50 of it leaving me with 200 calries. It was seasoned with Tejin powder and Tapati'o hot sauce which I and my dogs both love
I looked at the amount of calories I had ate and figured I should eat more. A while later I ate a small mango for another 60 calories.
I thought I ought to eat more after adding the calories.... then said, well, heck, I way overdid it the day before... so that was it.
I attribute it more to luck in not getting hungry JB
You are doing great also, keep it up and GL

I just realized that my calculations were all wrong for my post last Friday.
That usually doesn't happen because I use Excel to handle the conversions to pounds from kilograms. I should probably just work entirely in kg.

Sum38 Your avatar is terrific! I meant to mention it earlier. I saw it for the first time this month after returning to the forum since spring of this year.
Still here. Still reading. Just haven't been posting. This plateau is killing me!
Still at 253 to 254.
Your all doing great but this month is just not working for me.
Any suggestions on how to break this plateau?
I have lowered my calories as low as I dare go.
Sally, you might try the opposite and up your calories to maintenance levels for a little while? Or, if you work out, try a different routine or add an extra couple workouts this week. Anything to shake things up. Good luck. I know how frustrating it is

I upped my intake to maintenance for a while and then lowered it to my usual losing mode and it worked. My conclusion was that my body just needed a break, you know?... sometimes i'll stop losing due to lack of sleep, stress or to my getting too flexible with food portions. Sometimes i just don't know how to explain it!...
I know the feeling Sally. Last month it seemed the scales would not move for me. I knew I had the drop coming but it did not come til the end of the month and then not all of it. The body just does not immediately respond to fat loss and the scales reflect that in showing the liquid that is retained by the body to keep that weight... which it WILL eventually give up. Patience is the answer but to be doing something it would not hurt to do as the other two advise and increase to maintenence for a while... the body will still have to give in and release that liquid... in time, when it is ready. Beyond our control.
Thanks for the laugh on your first post Marina Though knowing the fluctuations of weight it sure is no pleasant surprise when an increase shows up for no reason... and a shocked pleasant surprise when it shows a good drop.
This morning I stepped on the scales expecting to see it up a little. Instead I was shocked to see 210.2 lbs.... 4 lbs down from yesterday!! I stepped off, let it go back to zero and did it again... same result. I let it go off, tapped it with my foot to let it re-calibrate it and repeated... same thing. So I go, "Oh well, time to quit arguing with it" and went out to tend a few things in the garden then came back in. I started to put the scales up which were sitting in front of my desk as I left them... but instead stepped onto them first. I was fully clothed then so I expected to see 217. It read 221 instead. My clothing weight is around 7 lbs. I disrobed and stepped on the scales again and got the reading of 214. A few more times and I was reassured the weight had corrected and logged the 214. Last month it did similar, but that time it added 5 lbs to me but 20 minutes later gave the correct weight. If they did me that way more often I would buy different scales. But cross checking them against my doctors scales showed the exact same weight on two occasions so I will just live with that occasional anomaly.

Marina and BFR you both have me a chuckle. I have been in both situations, weird scale ups and downs and weighing multiple times
Darius way to get back on track, I am often confused by Excel
SallyPineapple you got some good suggestions, I'll add don't quit and maybe weigh/measure your food for a little bit. I totally agree with moving up to maintenance calories it does seem sometimes any changes will jump start things. Best of luck!
kelijpa - thanks - it dropped again so I will make another post!
Well I will make my last post for this thread on Tuesday the 28th - i am flying to the US for a visit and I'm really looking forward to it!

BFR, I don't do calories.....I do points instead. But, I understand what you are talking about. Some days I blow through my points and I'm still hungry and other days I have a hard time getting them in.
Yesterday, I had to take my son to the doctor and he wanted McDonald's, which we rarely do. So, I took him to McDonald's and I was good. I ate about 10 of his fries and one bite of his hamburger (that he had left over). I REALLY wanted a Big Mac but I didn't do it.
