Geri, I have used food to energize my day, so still figuring out another way(maybe I need to take a nap?). I wanted to ask if you are drinking enough water and if sleeping is good? Both these can effect the next day. Also consistent light exercise increases the ability to feel good for me. The other thing I think about is normal body cycles(which I can't seem to predict, but I watch both me & DH feel tired, or super hungry, or energetic. Yeah-- for clothes that are a bit looser--Way to GO!

So glad to see Diana and Strudel and Dr. Geri determined. So sorry Dr. Geri that you must limit coffee and tea. OUCH!
Adding aerobic exercise at least 10 to 15 minutes most days.
Yesterday's 25 minutes on recumbent bike was encouraged by trainer saying, "faster, faster." I'm surprised I did it, then on to Massage Therapy!!
Pedometer shows I'm gradually adding more steps each week, that at least is encouraging. I knnow I do more before I get tired. Yesterday, my fullest day, I went till almost 7:00 PM and still felt decent. Big improvement!
Hard Working Dog Diana, you are absolutely right, I am deficient in water intake, quality sleep, and moderate exercise. I need more of all three things.
Gardener, so glad to see you check in with your record of progress!
Streudel, hope all is well with your on-plan challenge.
Day 16--Saturday, April 18: No sweets, no spuds. Planned to use my last pause today, but we got to the restaurant and none of the desserts looked worth spending a pause day on. So I ate lychee fruit instead. Definitely a victory. I will probably spend my last pause tomorrow, and then it's one more week to make it to the end of the challenge.
Geri, You are doing great and nice mindful eating for dessert! Like your planned pause day.
Streudel and love 2, How are ya doing?

Reason: update
Today's walk early this morning felt great!!!
Gardening, transplanting, weeding, etc in perfect weather.
Only one day without aerobic exercise this past week.
Pause day #3--Sunday, April 19: planned pause. I had mashed potatoes, and they tasted like heaven after not eating any for a while. Making spuds more rare definitely makes me appreciate them more. Also had a dessert, banana pudding, but just one (lesson learned from the bellyache on Pause Day 2).
Day 17--Monday, April 20: No sweets, no spuds. The spring season is overflowing with poor food choices at work. I had to pass up incredible-looking brownies at lunchtime, and a table full of cookies in the late afternoon. I am very grateful for this challenge, the knowledge that I'd already spent my last pause day kept me strong to try to power through to the end without blowing it.
Gardener, you are rocking it! You make me wish I had a garden to enjoy the outdoors and opportunity for exercise.
Diana, you are in the home stretch now. You can do this, you *will* do this!
Streudel, how are you doing? Hoping you are on plan and feeling good.
Sore Day!!! However, lots of plants dug up and transplanted with good rich mushroom compost, watered and mulched.
Can't get on my knees but can get in amazing pretzel shapes to get to plants inside Garden beds to dig up and replace plants who insist on "running" when I prefer they stay put!
Pedometer showed highest number in 2015. Still will go for walk shortly.
Egg salad open faced sandwich on whole grain bread was just finished. Too late for lunch and too early for supper. V-8 Juice. So glad no sweets in house.
Day 18--Tuesday, April 21:No sweets, no spuds
Day 19--Wednesday, April 22: No sweets, no spuds
Just two days more to go to beat this challenge. I know there will be sweets at work on Friday, however, so I have to stay mindful that my desire for victory in the challenge is stronger than for the cookies and brownies.
Gardener, you are really meeting your activity goals! I hope you are not pushing your knees past a level of exercise you can maintain over time, though. I hope you find that sweet spot of being active without hurting.
Diana, you are in the home stretch! Streudel, haven't heard from you in a little while, come on back!
Geri, , Good to see you staying strong, expecially with the goodies at your workplace. Almost there!
Streudel, How are you?
love 2, Way to go on the regular exercise. Do you wear any support on your knees?

Day 21--Firday, April 24: No sweets, no spuds. Today was as I expected, hard because of the table full of sweets I knew I would face at work. I actually found myself eyeing the table, plotting to myself that I could grab a stack of cookies, lemon tarts, and seven-layer bars, stick them in one of the disposable coffee cups, and take them home to eat them the next day after my challenge was over. This is how crazy my brain is about sweets and how hard they are to pass up for me. Fortunately, sanity prevailed and I neither had any at the time nor squirreled any away for Saturday.
So I officially declare this challenge VICTORIOUS! Woo hoo!
Hard Working Dog, I will check in again to see you make it across the finish line with your April stepping challenge. Gardener and Streudel, keep going! You are doing great.
I am going to take a little break and come back May 1 with a new challenge.
Diana, this challenge is a fantastic idea, and exactly what I need at the moment. You guys are an inspiration.
My problem is that I'm an emotional eater -- any stress or difficulty in my life sends me straight to the biscuit barrel. Right now I'm going through a miscarriage, and I'm determined to turn this devastating thing into a strength instead of a weakness.
So, my challenge to myself is not to eat outside meals except for fruit or raw veg. Three meals a day and nothing else, with two pause days built in just in case.
