the scale is playing MAJOR games with my head this week....

Sun- 165.0
Mon- 164.0
Tues-165.2
Wed-163.4
Thurs- 164

Sheesh all this jumping around! No more than 1150 Calories and no less than 1000 each day. That 163.4 day had me excited, hopefully another whoosh to come!

Hope this isn't a dead thread -- I'm a double regainer and I'd love to join in here.

In 2007/08 I started at 190 and got to 136 for my wedding. I kept it off for about four years before regaining it all slowly (having a baby didn't help, but I can't blame him completely!).

In 2013 I started at 187 and made it down to 156 before sliding off the wagon and regaining it all by the end of the year.

Aaaand I'm back in the saddle. My restart weight was 187 again this time, and I'm determined to do it all again, again. I lose pretty fast when I'm on plan, but I regain very quickly when I'm not.

My first goal is to get back to my mid-2013 weight of 156. Second is to make it back to 136. Today I'm at 182, a 5lb loss from mid-February when I got myself back in gear.

I have a lot of work to do.

Hi Crow - It's been pretty quiet but I am still here!

Familiar story! I used to gain & lose quickly but. every year losing gets slower and slower, so take advantage while you can!

I restarted January 9th and am down from 174 to 161 this morning. Been stuck between 160-161.2 for almost 2 weeks now though so I am frustrated. Hoping for a whoosh soon though!

Thanks Peach, it's good to have somebody in the same boat.

174 to 161 is excellent progress in such a short time -- at about 160 is where my loss really slowed down last time too. I hope it's just an extra-tough plateau and your progress kicks in soon.

I'm still at the beginning of the re-loss path, so I plan to use you for motivation!

Finally after voicing me frustrations I had a break through! Down to 159.4 this morning. My next big hurdle will probably be breaking 153, I seem to stay there FOREVER.

Crow, you will get there, I think you are making great progress so far. So what are you doing this time? I've done weight watchers and had great luck with it, but I am doing calorie counting now....it just seems simpler.

That's great, Peach! Breaking that new decade always feels like real progress. For me 153 is a big sticking point too -- though I have a few miles to go before I get there this time.

This time what I'm doing is eating sensibly and cutting out the junk. It doesn't sound like much, but making up my mind that I'm actually doing it is the biggest part of the battle.

Calorie counting on MFP really worked for me last time, and I'll probably go back to that once this starting whoosh slows down. For now I'm just enjoying the results of eating like a sensible person.

Do you have an exercise plan? I hate exercising, though once I get down into the 140s it's the only way I can continue losing.

Oh Crow we have a lot in common! lol

I have a couple of games I play with myself to stay focused.

1st- just eat better- I do this for a week or two through the 1st woosh
2nd- count calories ( I also make an attempt at not overdoing carbs) this through another month or 2
3rd- drink more water (stage I am in now)
4th add exercise (my least favorite stage!) I'll probably need this by the low 150's

I know from my past that doing these things tend to help me get past plateau's so I gradually add them in when I need a push. If I do them all at
the beginning I know I don't have ammo when I really need it. It's just a mind game for me-lol

You're right, we do have a lot in common!

I find that the starting whoosh will see me about half way through the 170s before I need to knuckle down and start actually working.

I've never tried drinking more water, though. Does that acually work?

It really does....I know when I was in college right outside my dorm door was a water fountain. Every time I left the room or came in out of habit I took a drink. Instead of gaining weight my freshman year like most do, I lost. I know the water did that!

Technically I think it has to do with flushing out fat and helping with all over digestion.

Happy again today, after being stalled so long I saw another drop in the scales this morning -.4

I noticed you are in Ireland...it's at the top of my husbands "to visit" list. I am in the US, Atlanta.

Hey, I'll join too and try to help keep this thread alive for those of us who need it. I lost 60 pounds a few years ago and gained just over 40 of it back. So sad, so bad Right now I'm down a few pounds, 177.5 as of this morning. Trying to talk myself into going for my third run/walk of the week.

Welcome, Aunty! Looks like you're doing really well this time; you'll have the last of that 40lbs moved before you know it.

Peach, I've flown into the airport in Atlanta a few times, but I've never seen any more of the city than that. What I mainly remember is that it's hot.

I'm going to remember your water tip when I'm struggling!

Crow, looks like we will be celebrating you moving into a new decade soon!

Aunty, Did you take the walk/run?

Was down to 158.8 today, but not holding my breath on tomorrow, I had mexican food tonight. I did stay in my calorie goals, but for some reason mexican food doesn't like the scales for me.

No new decade for me; scales laughed at me and went back up to 182. Looks like the honeymoon whoosh is over.

Peach, you're blazing through! Hope the mexican food didn't derail you too badly.

I'm still holding at 158.8 so I made it through the mexican fine- now tonight I tried Chinese. Stayed at calorie goal again- but slightly high on sodium...fingers crossed!

You'll have another whoosh soon, just stay the course!
