Well, today was just a plain lazy day!! It was cold, snowy and just felt good being curled up in front of the fireplace.. So had my pedometer on all day and just got 0.75 miles in... That's OK tomorrow is a new day!

I'm still hurting from what I think is IT band syndrome, although I'm beginning to wonder if there's a hairline stress fracture in the hip. I went to the gym again and rode the exercise bike on a very low level. The machine said it was over 6 miles in 15 minutes, but I know that my real Schwinn one-speed covers one real mile on the real road in 5 minutes, so I've decided to claim one mile for every 5 minutes on the exercise bike even if the bike says it's more. For now I think the non-weight-bearing bike is the only thing I can do to add miles.

I'm on board! I got a Fitbit in December so I know exactly how much I am walking.

Unfortunately, the snow and frigid temperatures has made activity difficult this weekend.

So as of today, I've gone 12.4 miles.

Had to push it a couple days, I'm not used to working out this much but I felt so great today after I finished my first 3 mile walk routine. Felt like I could take over the world. Self-esteem hit an all new high. I was like oh yeah I am awesome you did it, it sucked but you rocked it! I even danced a little after. lol Now my hip is killing me, I knew the risk and I also talked to my doc and he says don't overdo it but certainly don't quit exercising. Guess I just got to not run around like a 2 year old after my work outs

1/2: 2/1000
1/3: 4/1000
1/4: 6/1000
1/6: 9/1000

Hi everyone! Looks like we're all doing really well. I'm definitely using this challenge to make sure I'm not sitting on my butt for 8 hours at work!

I'm editing my original post but I think I'll make a new one every week. So week one is done and I've completed 29.2/1000 miles. Let's just hope I can keep this pace up for the next 51!

Haven't been on here for a while and I need the challenge. I also have a fitbit that I wear every day so I will go by the totals it uploads for me.
1/1 - 4.1
1/2 - 3.9
1/3 - 4.2
1/4 - 4.1
1/5 - 4.3
1/6 - 4
1/7 - 4
Total for first week: 28.6 miles.
A good portion of these have been on the treadmill as it is too cold to walk outside in Minnesota.

I would like to join, too. I have a Fitbit One. I hope it is ok to just post my totals every few weeks or at the end of the month. I haven't gotten very motivated yet this January. But, I did over 1000 miles in both 2012 and 2013.

The cold snap has kept me indoors lately. I really wish I could take my dogs out and enjoy the sunshine a bit but it is still VERY cold out. 16/1000

This is going to be a great thread this year, look at the miles already - yahoo!

newbies.

Teeni- know what you mean about accountability, this way it is year round. Also wanted to encourage you to keep it up, the hurt will go away.

Mothermavis, dredmill =lol.

Tabby, have you gone to a doctor, you really have been hurting for a long time.

Davikat, love taking my dog for walks too, but must be close to 40 for me.

Keep Moving
