Hello. I am joining in I am going to set a 2 KG goal for this month. I have my oldest son's 22nd birthday 20/12 and then Christmas. I am going to try and be reasonable without depriving myself because I really need to learn how to live with sensible portions. I have all the tools to do what needs to be done but I always look for quick fixes that I can't live with. This time I am doing everything in moderation. My big goal is just over 20 KG (45 lbs) for my 46th on 13/06 after that if I am able to keep going I will be quite pleased but a 45 pound loss will put me under 155 for the first time since 1992. God that hurts to say since my lowest in decades was after my first son was born. I lost the baby weight once, twice and almost 3 times but then just started climbing.

Happy December!
My goal is to lose 3.9 pounds and get into the 150s!

Dec 1 - 163.8
Dec 2 - 162.6
Dec 3 - 161.6
Dec 4 - 159.8

Dec 31 - 159.9

Weird day yesterday, I didn't' teat enough for dinner, I don't expect this weight to stick, I'm stunned. I guess snow removal burns more calories than I thought.

Best to all

I lost another lb! That's 35 lbs in 4 1/2 months! And I've gone down another pants size! How fun is that?!

Yay Rhiko! Congrats! And way to give up that late night snacking!

183, have fun at the Christmas Fair! And the water weight will fall back off. Don't give it a second thought!

Hi Leeh! I'm so glad you're joining us! It's good that you recognize that quick fixes are not really fixes at all. Moderation is key. Just stay on plan and you'll get there! Weight fluctuates on a daily basis so don't let that water weight throw you off. It always drops away again if you stay on plan. You have some good goals and you can do this! Good luck!

Kelijpa!!! You've already made goal, girl!!! You may put on some water weight, but you are right there!!! How exciting!

Sum, nice job! Keep it going!

Boatingmommy, wow! What a drop! Congrats!

I am in again this month. I didn't make it last month, only had about a 4 pound loss out of the 6 pounds I set for my goal. Last week was a seriously BAD week. By Sunday I had gone up from 230.1 to 232.7! I ate horribly and did not exercise. I am not sure what happened but I lost ALL of my will power. I am back to eating on plan but still haven't exercised I will shoot for 6.7 pounds again since I know some of my start weight is water. That will make it an even 70 ponds lost total!

The whoosh fairy comes at the oddest times. I had a planned Christmas treat yesterday and an unplanned supper at a tapas restaurant. A drop this morning was completely unexpected.

Cool, kelipja! Do you want me to mark you as at goal already?

Default Hello...

kelijpa- you're doing amazing, it's awesome that you're already at goal! Yes, I have found that shoveling snow is quite a workout myself...but not much snow here yet... we've had strange rainstorms then frost....odd this time of year (Vermont)

Rsadler126- good goal, and some movement is better than backtracking for sure! Dory quote: "just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming!"

boatingmommy- keep going it will come! Hey being able to pull off exercise around ornaments is tough! I hope I can say the same, planning on putting the tree up today.... ty about WW...saw their new plan...my biggest problem has been and always will be moderation.... I'm a binge eater....

pnkrckpixicat- aww man in school too huh? it's hard to juggle all that stuff, I'm finally done with school myself and it's definitely hard to do family, school, work. I've heard about the insulin response and carbs and tried the Atkins, works well but be careful, I'm sure Atkins has some modifications but it's founder did die of a heart attack.... it is a successful diet though, think I lost 8lbs in a week on it... I'll tell ya though by the end I wanted to rip someone's face off for eating pasta around me.....

sum38-good job chipping away... what's your plan for loss this month?

turtle1- ouch...don't worry...I'm sure you're just having a minor setback.... I mean look how far you've come...I'm really impressed, and I'm sure everything will be good for you

gardenerjoy- Good morning, thanks for making the thread... I have joined many of these in the past... quite some time ago now, been so long since been on... they're very motivating. It looks like you've come a long way too.... I see you count in kg..I'm not familiar with kgs and it's hard because the doctor's offices are all converting now. I'm sure I'll catch on eventually... see you around the boards!

jacqui d- I like your positive outlook on holding numbers, good job on the loss too!! I'd be super pumped about dropping a size

rhiko- had to go look up kgs.... doesn't sound too bad, I'm sure you'll be able to bounce back.... just keep on moving.... watch out for the holidays too, they're closing in...lol...

183stgb- nice job being accountable...crossfit, that a machine? are you building muscle? they say you might gain w muscle as it weighs more than fat...

leeh- well, I totally get how hard it is to eat in moderation....me too.... also, don't worry too much, the fact that you've lost the weight repetitively means you know you can do it and something works for you....which is awesome!

marymo-hi, and good luck... 4 lbs is fine, and reasonable especially if you might be tempted to eat lots of interesting foods for the holidays....

southernbell02- hey, you had trouble and you are being accountable...now you can move on....onward and ...well downward right?!? I see you've already started too! Good to see you have a plan of attack

Default check in

12/1- 268
12/2- 268
12/3- 268
12/4- 267
12/5-
12/6-
12/7-
12/8-
12/9-
12/10-

Well, it's a start... I'm weighing w clothes but not shoes...used to weigh nekkid...lol just to be as light as possible but figured eh, it is what it is.

So, 9 lbs will put me in a different tens digit and would be amazing w christmas because I tend to eat everything w christmas and thanksgiving...I will eat a fair bit mind you, but hopefully not everything I see (I binge)

not doing much of a plan right now, just trying not to eat every time I go into the kitchen, no exercise plan yet....it's all about less right now... wish me luck!

Good morning!!

Rhiko see that water weight was hiding some actual loss!!! good job! keep up with the no off plan snacking at night

183 I've found I gain water weight not from the day before, but from 2 days before. but if you are OP it is probably just some random fluctuation that will come off soon

Leeh welcome!!!

Woot Jacqui!!! but if you are at a set point you may bounce up and down for a bit.

I seem to be holding stable so I guess I'm done losing water.... hopefully i'll see a new # soon!

12/01 - 248.0
12/02 - 246.3
12/03 - 246.3

Thank you for the welcome BFR! I didn't see this until today because I have been traveling. The world is a small place! Moab is beautiful and it makes me happy to see other people that enjoy is as much as I do. Good luck on your goal of 12lbs! You can do this! Heck, we can do this!

Good luck to everyone! Let's start the new year ahead of everyone else!

Congrats Jacqui! You and Nightangel are awesome in your personals, it's so great to get encouragement.

DH is having outpatient surgery today, adenoid removal and such. I brought some fruit and had salad and veggie burger for lunch. I've been reading an old issue of prevention, it's pretty good, there's an article about yoga moves to help flatten your belly. I've been trying to do stretches and a couple poses everyday, i can't believe how inflexible I've become...body wise I mean...lol.

There was also an article about a woman who used self-acceptance to help in her weight loss, she lost 185 pounds with diet and exercise and treating herself with kindness instead of her usual negative self-talk. She said she went from viewing herself as a fat person who made healthy choices because she had to to viewing herself as a healthy person who made healthy choices because that's what made her happy. Interesting.

Best to all
