Matisse, you are probably right that I just haven't had a good oyster. Plus it has been many years so who knows how my tastes have changed in that time. Great loss today!
Tuscany, congrats on whooshing. You are very close to winning this.

Ok- someone's going to win this thing soon- it's def not be, but I'm excited for those heading in the right direction!!
Matisse- the food you posted the other night made my stomach instantly growl!! I'm from ns Canada originally- now living in Arkansas. I miss fresh seafood as much as my family back home! Lol I want real, fresh seafood now!!! Gimme! Lol
Yes, I remember that you are a fellow Canadian, Mountain Mama. There is nothing like fresh seafood. I once had a lunch meal of crab legs that were caught in the morning and cooked on the ship in sea water.
Nothing beats that!
Can't you get fresh fish/seafood from Louisiana or Mississipi? It's close.

I missed this last night. Thank you.
Two of my friends told me that they did not like oysters and now they love it and order them often in restaurants. It might not be for everybody, but once you know you have a good product. It's prepared right i.e. chilled and it tastes like clean sea water, it's hard to hate it.
And Northern oysters taste different than Southern one. They are mild and subtle.
If you find yourself in the Pacific Coast (Washington, Oregon, BC), the kumamoto oyster tastes like buttery cucumber. It's easy to love.
Congratulations, Matisse! You've got this! I simply maintained at 146.75 this morning, which is still 0.75 lbs away from goal. Time to start a new thread!!
