Had my first run with the air force trainer- she is great! We did 2 miles, I did .5 in my VFFs and the other 1.5 in my sneakers. I'm back in full force this week- went to the grocery store, have plenty of protein-rich snacks to choose from... will be a very good week!

Awww, don't be sorry, i'm thankful to have a job to complain about, P.S i was wondering about that fitbit, someone in the thread mentioned getting one recently but i can't remember who right now, will look at that UP now also, like you i think why do i need one, i've come so far without it already, but maintenance could benefit from balancing intake as well i think.

Good point! I rather complain about my job too ;-)
I also like the sleep function on that Jawbone Up. It would be nice to monitor my sleep a bit. I am trying to sleep more but usually don't make it. However, if I find out I am sleeping very well mostly, I might be fine with less sleep?

I love my little fitbit. It has great features, half the cost and the program is free to use online and I can update and log anywhere. Even on my mobile phone. It has a HUGE food database, I haven't found a food yet that isn't in there and isn't accurate. I love seeing my steps and calories burned and how much I workout. it's the size of a USB drive and clips to my belt loop with no problems. haven't lost it yet, the sleep cuff is comfortable on my wrist and I don't feel it at all. I highly reccomend it.

So I may not be pledging a weight to lose anymore... I have an appointment with the health center on base sometime next week to get measured in a "BodPod," where it takes all your measurements and everything. The lady said they will write out a nutrition plan personalized for me, and I can meet with their trainers to get a fitness plan (beyond my running schedule). Then I can ask them as much as I want, they can update both plans continuously, and she recommended checking the BodPod once a month and not weighing myself in between.
Has anyone ever heard of this bodpod? Is it a gimmick? I'm hesitant to hide the scale- as it is, it takes a LOT of self control for me to only weigh myself once a week or so.

Great job Thinsole! I think you should keep a rotating list of 6 goals so you always have some shiny done ones!
9 miles this morning ran with 2 friends, one slower than me and one faster than me so it ended up being a nice progression run. The slowest ran the first 2 miles with us and then we split and I managed to hold my faster friend back for about 5 miles and then the last 2 were a little fast but a good ending pace.
One of the things I miss most since running first thing in the morning is hanging out in my pj's drinking coffee on a saturday so I came home from my run and changed back into fuzzy pj's. Best of both worlds!

Hi Platoon!
I had a very exciting and busy week. I'm going to try and catch up on everyone's posts.
I just can't believe how close to goal I am. It's so exciting, it's been an amazing year. I'm searching for a before picture. Not having much luck really. I did a lot of hiding back then.
Hope you are all having a good week. Get in those Saturday last chance work outs
