  • Welcome one and all to the Thanksgiving Challenge! It's just right around the corner, giving us 4.5 weeks to gobble up some pounds before we gobble up some turkey (without going to hog wild, of course).

So, come one and come all, and join the fun as we cheer one another on to reach our goals and look our best for the holidays. Thanks to the encouragement and help of my friends during our Halloween challenge, I managed to lose 15 pounds and met my Halloween goal weight a week early. And the others in that challenge are kicking some major weightloss booty, too. Let's continue the booty kicking all the way to turkey day!!

Just post your starting weight in your first post. I don't know about you, but if I don't do that I forget what I pledged to lose.

    Today's weight is: 199
    Thanksgiving goal: 190

    Good luck to everyone!!!

  • I am in the 10 lbs by November 1st group and I hit my goal yesterday. I would LOVE to lose 12 more lbs by Thanksgiving. I know it's lofty but I'm trying soooo hard to get to Onederland by the time my husband comes home in January.

    SW: 222.5
    GW: 210.5

I have to say I really love doing these challenges. They keep me super motivated.
  • Glad to have you aboard, Lambiechop! Twelve pounds by Thanksgiving is totally doable. Which weightloss plan are you following? Are you exercising?

I usually follow some type of high-protein diet, but don't stick to any one in particular. For exercise I'm just getting into the newer Callanetics dvds, which I love! ♥

You're husband is going to be so blown away when he sees you come January!
  • Thanks, Sandy! I'm calorie counting. I haven't started exercising yet but I'm planning on it November 1st. I have the Zumba DVDs and a stationary bike at home.

I really hope he's pleasantly surprised. He knows I've been trying to lose weight but has no idea how successful I've been. I'm so excited to see him again. He's been deployed since August 31st. I restarted on September 4th. Hopefully 10 more weeks until he's home.
  • I don't track pounds but I would like to be in a 14w by Thanksgiving. Aggressive goal (it's also my goal for the Christmas challenge). Doesn't hurt to aim high.... or rather low
  • So does that mean that the last time he saw you was when you were 37 pounds more than you are now? Oh my! What a treat he's in for! I'm already getting excited for you.
  • Hi Free! Why not aim big?!? I actually think you could lose a size in 4.5 weeks. Go for it!!!
  • I lost some weight May to June. Gained some back over the summer and restarted at 246.5 on September 4th. So I've lost 24 since he left.
  • I agree with Sandy. I definitely think you could drop a size by Thanksgiving. Good luck!
  • I love it! I am 195 lbs and before Thanksgiving I want to be 180 lbs. I know this sounds like a lot, but I lose the first 5 very easily (water weight)
  • I am 215 right now, and I want to lose at least 10 lbs. I think I can do more, but I don't want to get my hopes up. I will still aim to do more though!
  • I weighed 234 yesterday. I have lost 10 pounds in the last three weeks so I am shooting for 12 pounds by thanksgiving. I have been.working out everyday so if I can keep that up I might just do it.
  • Quote: I lost some weight May to June. Gained some back over the summer and restarted at 246.5 on September 4th. So I've lost 24 since he left.
So that means the next time he sees you, you could possibly be 45-50 pounds lighter than the last time he saw you. Notice I'm aiming high for you. LOL
  • Welcome, welcome to CRose, Noelle and Pag! We are going to rock it during these next few weeks. I love how we are all aiming to lose a good amount. Even if we fall short a few pounds, at least we can say we gave it all we got, and we are going to look and feel a heck of a lot better come Thanksgiving morning. What more can we ask?
  • yaay for a challenge.
Count me in! My goal is 15 pounds. I'm restarting my weight loss efforts today. I'm currently 256 lbs down from 275 lbs and I'm on the medifast plan.
