Pleased to have you join us, fyreflie24!

So I did my Callanetics Evolution for the first time today. My sister ranked out on me but that's okay. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, but I did sort of take it easy because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to walk tomorrow if I tense up too much (like I did the first time I did the original workout). I really like this new workout.

And I received the Callanetics Aerobics in the mail today. I can't wait to try it tomorrow...if I'm not too sore.

How is everyone else doing with there workouts?

So do you think the new workouts are worth the upgrade?

Oh, most definitely! And not only because the clothing style is much more updated. The instructor teaching the workout has that same soothing, soft voice like Callan. There are also 3 women doing different versions of the same exercise: Beginner, intermediate and advanced. So you can pick which person to follow depending on your exercise level. Also there are much more arm exercises and there are exercises for your chest and upper back (missing from the original workout). Oh, and no need for a ballet bar or high-back chair for bar work. In this dvd, they only use a table (you can use that or a chair of any height) to steady yourself during certain exercises.

Better late than never...I just got done doing Cardio Callanetics. I absolutely love this workout! ♥ It incorporates ballet and yoga and there are no bouncy exercises. I hate aerobic workouts that incorporate plyometrics or bouncing/jumping of any kind. I've always believed it to be hard on the knees, hips and joints over time, and my mom, who used to be an avid runner, is now living with painful joints in her knees and hips, osteoperosis and arthritis because of it. No doctor can tell me all her years of running didn't contribute to the pain she now has.

Anyway, I love how fluid the movements are in this workout, and it really made me sweat and increased my heart rate. The 30 minutes really flew by. I didn't realize it when I bought it, but it is followed by a shorter version of Callanetics Evolution (30 minutes of it compared to an hour with the full dvd). I was thinking of maybe doing just this 30-minute Callanetics Evolution instead of the hour-long one on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and Cardio Callanetics on Tuesday and Thursday...at least until I get into better shape. I do like working out 5 days a week, but I don't much like hour long workouts.

I'm also following these workouts with a facial exercise dvd that got good reviews on Amazon. I'll let you girls know how that is working for me in a couple of weeks. It's 20 minutes long.

I hope to hear from eveyone else soon.

Eeek! I hope I'm not losing my Callanetics recruits. Please check in everyone.

I did my 30-minute Callanetic Evolution. I love this even more than Cardio Callanetics, and like the cardio one, the time goes by so quickly, and I feel sweaty but so relaxed and limber. I followed that with my 20-minute face workout dvd. I really hope that works and that I'm not just making any wrinkles I have worse. lol

Until tomorrow!

Hi all. I have been MIA. I haven't done Cal since Last week. This week is finals week and it has been busy. I am going to try to get on it tomorrow though. I will do either the AM or PM.

I'm glad you checked in, Mizz. I know that finals are stressful. Good luck with those. Maybe think of that Callanetics workout tomorrow as a way to release some of the stress you feel from taking those tests.

I am feeling slightly sore from yesterdays Evo (Evolution) workout. I love that soreness though. AND...I lost another pound!!! I normally don't weigh more than once a week, but I'm so close to being in onederland that I just can't wait that long.

Hi girls!

Unfortunately, I only did two Callanetics workouts during the week, so I'm doing the Evo one today so that I can at least get in 3 workouts for this week. I'm still shooting for 5 workouts next week. And I'm down another half of a pound. Only one more to go to see that "1" in front of my weight. I'm about to burst. LOL

If you are only able to get one of the new ones, then I would suggest Cardio Callanetics because you get the 30-minute cardio workout and 30 minutes of the Callanetics Evolution on the one dvd. Of course, if toning is more important to you than the cardio, then get the full hour-long Callanetics Evolution. But I feel that even with the 30-minute version, you will still get a great toning workout.

Another half pound gone this morning! I'm smack dab at 200 pounds; on the cusp of onederland. Gotta keep busy today so I can burn as many calories as possible.

Hey gang!

I hope you are all still with me in this challenge. I did Evo yesterday and I am determined to get in 5 workouts this week. I have been terrible, doing only 2 workouts a week, and my lack of inch loss shows it. So, time to get serious this next month!

Cardio Callanetics is up for today. And, surprisingly, I'm down another 1.5 pounds! Helloooo Onederland!!!

Thanks so much! How is it going with the Callanetics? Have you started yet?

10/27/2011: Edited to add: Hey, if anyone is wondering where I went. I joined the October Exercise challenge thread. I don't mean to bail on you guys. It's just that I felt sort of alone here after a while and really needed a push. I hope to see you guys over there. I'm still doing Callanetics, too.
