Finally got a few minutes in between cooking dinner and math homework, so I thought I'd check in real quick. I haven't watched TBL yet either; saving that and this thread as my reward for all my hard work

Last night I was actually in a car accident. Everyone was fine, but my friend's car was completely totaled. His brakes went out just as we were getting on the freeway. For a split second I was like oh man, not NOW, but then reality kicked in and I realized how lucky we were. Nobody was hurt, I can still run Sunday, hopefully friend will get a better car out of it. A car that is not magenta. Anyway, this week has been stressful, but that was a definite attitude adjustment moment.

Besides that, I've actually been doing VERY well with my diet. I'm not trying to lose a lot this week, but have been focusing on high quality carbs. Bringing my own lunch/dinner every day, avoiding fast food and just eating mindfully and staying within calories. My language group for Spanish is a candy/junk food table, so I've gotten very good at saying "No, gracias, mi sargento me va a matar! Estoy evitando la piojos." It's ok. They already think I'm weird.

rainbow, Way to go in there with a plan and then execute that plan

FitGirlyGirl, SO glad I wasn't the only one interested in the korean fat camp. Crunches in the snow sounds pretty fun, actually. There's something wrong with us.

ennay, I've been hailed on too. Oregon has some weird weather the past few years. You don't want to end up like that guy who was struck by lightning once and then was prone to being struck for the rest of his life. Yikes.

chickadee, congrats on 100 lbs lost and being your lightest since 16!! 100 lbs is a nice big impressive number, definitely worthy of a carrot or two That's a major accomplishment. I'm actually smaller now than I was in high school too. Feels good

Ok, off to go see what all the fuss is about for this week's TBL and complete armed for duty. Who's got tickets to the show? The GUN show!?! As MsB would say, so funny in my own head

@joyful....SO JOY-FULL....that you are ok and were not hurt in your accident. accidents happen so fast, i lost a friend 2 wks ago in a car accident, and my neighbors 15 yr granddaughter was also killed the same week, she was hit by a car while crossing the street. so thankful that you are ok

Hey platoon I got another email today from Navy Seal CPO A J Hallas. He sent some more pictures too. I thought you might like it if I passed along his updates.

A J Hallas here, The platoon had a rough start this morning as the ocean was a little choppy but then they were surprised by a bunch of dolphins.

The platoon is getting very close to shore where they will be able to camp on the beach.

We figured out why Bruce was acting so strangly. As it turns out Bruce is a Bruc-eena. She gave birth to a 2 foot baby this afternoon.

No worries, The baby was returned to the ocean and mama and baby are doing well. More later, CPO A J Hallas.

Joyful - so glad you are ok! Have a good race Sunday. I wish I could drive down to cheer but can't give up that much family time.

Chickadee: Thanks and WOW! Congrats on the weight loss! You're an inspiration.
Jeanettey: Cool pictures, so how'd you get in touch with a Navy Seal?

Ran/walked with Lucy (my dog) tonight. I had to walk a lot with her, but she did a lot of sprints which was a great workout. Weighed myself tonight as 159 Already losing water. I'm also trying to get as close to 8 hours of sleep as possible because sleep deprivation adds a lot of stress to my life. It's nice to read all the updates from you guys, keeps me focused.

Hi Sarge! Checking in early because I'll be traveling this weekend and I won't have my scale around, and may not even have a computer until Monday. BUT! Super excited because the numbers for my very first weekly challenge ever are:

Pledged: 2 lbs
Lost: 3.4 lbs
Next Pledge: 3lbs

just got back from the food co-op market and scored tons of fresh veggies!! i strolled and shopped for 2 hours!! i was back much later than planned, starved for some good food...and while i had already planned my lunch, was so tired and hungry i wanted to just grab something to eat, some crappy pre-packaged not good for me stuff that nigel still has lingering around the house!! instead...i stayed the course, thinking all the time that bruc-eena would eat me alive if i strayed and didn't stay BLACK OPS STRONG!!! so i spent the 20 mins making the soup and smoothie instead and it was OOOOOoooooo SO WORTH IT!!

i am continuing to impress myself with my culinary experimentation of finding delicious and nutritious ways to enjoy more vegetables and fruits in my day. my latest is this amazingly delicious butternut squash and pear soup and a blueberry lime smoothie made with greek yogurt!! i used the leftover roasted butternut squash from supper!! i even made it special for me with my initial "S" in the tiny amount of cream added at the very end!! YUMMM!!! oooh and i put it into my best china...because I AM WORTH IT!!

I AM FOCUSED...

I. AM. FIERCE.

I AM BLACK OPS STRONG!!
