I am SO looking forward to the holidays (not all the eating tho!). I love the crisp weather and warm clothes. I think this challenge is perfect for me. I too want to stay amazingly on track for the rest of the year, but I need help.

I calorie count, approx. 1700 per day. I tediously weigh everything.

I exercise pretty hard ca. 1 hour, 5-6 times a week. Usually jogging and/or ashtanga yoga.

My goal is to have approx. 1000 calorie deficit everyday through proper eating and exercise. I would like to be 145 by New Years Eve. There will be so many get-togethers and holiday parties..... I really want to look and feel my best. Also, January 11th is my 30th B-Day, so of course I'd like to prepare for that somehow!

This is perfect for me, I have just come back from a holiday and I have a new attitude to diets! I have been 42 pounds lighter than i am now and all the ranges in between for the last 4 years and I am now ready to do this slowly and properly!
I am only aiming for 13 pounds (1 a week) by new years and I am doing this by running (not very far) 3 times a week and eating my BMR calorie range minus 500 which is around 1900 calories a day (I used to only eat 1200, it worked but I would be too scared to eat properly and just gain it all back). This is my 3rd day and I weigh in on Wednesdays and so far iv'e found it really easy, 1900 calories is like heaven for me!!

SW: 188.7
GW: 175

Good luck everyone!!

Rainydays I am just counting calories and going all natural. I haven't really tried any other diets.

I just started the Fat Smash Diet. It has 4 phases that will end on Dec 25th. I will need this challenge to keep up the motivation through the holidays. I guess I'll go for 25lbs. I will weigh in tomorrow morning (and edit this post) and use that as my starting.

SW: 202.2 <eek!>
GW: 177.2 <Yay!>

Edit: I just added my starting and goal weights. Now that I see what I could be by the end of this challenge, I REALLY want to do it. LET'S DO THIS!!
Awesome gatorgirl, another leap into Onederland! That's a great goal, and it seems like our challenge really lines up with your diet phase dates And I totally know what you mean, I'm always a little reluctant to join challenges late too! Welcome!

Unna, welcome! I know what you mean, warm sweaters and sweatshirts in the crisp air is just great. I think 20 pounds is a great challenge goal. And yes, you definitely have to be ready to look fantastic for your 30th!!!

Welcome Blondie! 13 lbs is a great, very attainable goal. Slow and steady is such a healthy way to lose weight, and is much easier to maintain than losing a ton of weight in a really short amount of time.

Welcome fresno! Is your ticker correct? That would be 9 lbs if so, and that's absolutely doable! Good goal!

I'd love to join! I'm in a 12 week weight loss challenge and in a monthly exercise challenge. Being accountable helps me get up and moving! My weight loss stalled over the last couple of weeks because of an injury and not being able to exercise. Added to which my eating hadn't been all that great, either.

I count calories and stay between 1300 and 1500 and try to get in a 3 mi run about 4-5 times a week. I hope to reach my goal weight by NYE, which would make this challenge so special for me!

I'd like to join. This part of the year is always my downfall. I'm a teacher, and I get in shape and lose weight every summer. Then school starts, and I tell myself "I'll stay in shape this year" but I don't have time to go to the gym every day, and every year I gain the weight back by May.

I started losing weight in June when I was 145 pounds. Today I am 130. I want to get down to 125 by New Year's. I have not been there since high school, and that was 40 years ago!

I try to follow the Mediterranean/Sonoma eating plan. It works for me. I have been swimming laps at my apartment pool, but in another month it will be too cold, so I will have to switch to another exercise plan.

Oct 1 weight: 130
Goal weight: 125
