Hey, all. I'm going to try and come around here more often. It is encouraging to me, and, I think, definitely worth making the effort to get online more often. Plus which, I could actually participate in conversations, instead of reading them after everything that needs to be said has already been said.

Hope everyone is working their plans and hitting their goals for the day.

Aaahhhhh - there is so much win coming out of you today!! That is some freaking adorable counting. Most importantly, what an awesome way to get a workout in while still spending some quality time with your little guy! Let that be a lesson to anyone who may be using the excuse of "but I have to spend time with the kids...." to keep them from getting in some intentional exercise. I also love that you have such an awesome partner who could tell that you needed some sort of kick in the BUTT-er last night and jumped right in to work with you and support you.

Despite what you may think, your posts today are exuding satisfaction. Remember all those feelings you had while you were working out with your hubby last night....you probably felt confident and strong. Next time you're mentally lagging or needing some inspiration, think back to last night and remember how awesome that felt. It's stuff like that that runs through my head when I'm lagging and needing an extra push to get up and get myself to feeling that awesome again.

Anon - Thanks again for maintaining that spreadsheet. Love the colour coded goal idea!

pokey - Love it! The first step to taking over the world is clearly taking over your grocery list. Hahaha!

chickadee - Sorry to hear about that ankle! Keep up the ice and rest when you can!

Sarge EXHAUSTED!!! Logged 144 minutes for day/2,900 Fitocracy points in final push to remain ahead of HARDCORECHICK!

Anon--Like others, must once again thank you for both the spreadsheet (and Chick) and introducing us to Fitocracy! Sarge wouldn't be doing half the stuff he's doing without the those nifty little extras!

More thanks also to Jeanettey for keeping us all on our toes with a weekly challenge! Without these additional motivations things could get pretty stale around here!

Peanutt -- That is a fine looking ANGRY AVATAR! Although I am gonna miss the "skinny shadow" reminder!

SO MUCH COOTIE FREE WIN GOING ON HERE TODAY!!!

LET'S DO IT AGAIN TOMORROW!

Don't worry, Sarge.....I'm sure the angry hardcore peanutt won't be around long. Looks like the platoon is quickly getting things in order after leaving behind the cooties of the old thread! Once everyone gets their heads screwed on right and we're all carrying on as usual the sexy skinny shadow will make a comeback (perhaps in an updated form).

Does cooking and baking count? Phew. I am finished aka exhausted! It is 30C and I had the brilliant idea to cook big batches of green beans, bake some Saskatoon berry and blueberry pies (not for me!) and make Saskatoon berry jam.
Tomorrow would have been a better day I guess since they forecast a chilly 10C. Brrrr. Oh well.

So I am going to revise my plan of action for today and try to get some extra calories in. So todays food was:

My beloved cuban espresso with peppermint creamer for breakfast. I know but 5:30 is just too early to eat and it ends up giving me a stomach ache.

Snack: pack of peanut butter crackers

Lunch:

Salad
Hard Boiled Egg
4 tbsp honey mustard dressing
2 tbsp cheese

Dinner:

1 small pork chop
1/4 cup broccoli rice
1/4 cup corn

Good, bad or otherwise would be appreciated.

Planning on 3 miles tonignt when the kiddies are in bed.

DZack - And that's a day where you're trying to get extra calories in??!? Wow.

Peanutt-Well I was at my internship today and we cant eat anytime...only at specials and lunch (pack of crackers and salad.)

And normally I would eat a salad for dinner but I went ahead and ate the porkchop, rice and corn instead.

Should I change it up?

I think you should be eating more. I understand that you can't necessarily eat throughout the day, but you can eat more at the times when you're able to. You should have a real breakfast with some protein and good fats (think avocados, nuts, nut butters) to keep you full through to your lunch. If you're moderately active, your body could probably lose with you eating 1600-1800 calories per day right now. It's a big fat myth that we have to peck away at these tiny little meals of 1/4 cup of rice and broccoli to lose weight. Here's the link to my blog post about this that I keep referring people to.

BudgetBaby: Nothing like sitting round the barracks shooting the crap (and rats) with the rest of the platoon in real time --- something about having rainbowSmiles open up with a AK-47 next to your ear that just keeps the juices flowing, ya know? Climb on into a uniform! (Welcome back? Not sure you are actually new here!)

JayTee:
You are a competition junkie, ain't ya, Sarge? Well, it looks REAL good on you! Good on you (Goo on you?) for keeping that Hardcore Hussy in her place. WOOT!

Dzack: Dzack and the de groceries that go into dzack. (Great! Now the voices in my head will be affecting French accents for the rest of the night!) You are definitely strong on plan there, Dzack, but ~1200 calories sounds low to my admittedly very uneducated ears. Did you see the cool infographic on post 26 from Riestrella that displays a lot of practical advice about eating and workouts?

Reso: I is calling you out! Go big or go BOOM! (Ok, so I'm not suicidal and so I'm not calling you out --- we just LOVE to tease our Reso! )

Added an extra 30 minutes to the Spreadsheet of Sparta strolling with a neighbor --- I guess it was around 2 miles an hour; is that too slow to count?

All I can say is the gym is the perfect place to get it all out. I get much more release and peace from busting my butt there than I ever did sitting in my bed stuffing my face feeling sorry for myself! Today is the beginning of the rest of my life and I can't to see what this next chapter holds

LOTS OF POSITIVE

WIN GOING ON!!

MAKES GOOEY VERY VERY HAPPY!!!

Not a lot of time for personals, but:

PacSun: little one counting . . . Oh so precious and kind of funny too . . .

Pokey: Pull up a chair <mini story time to commence now> sorry it's gonna be the Reader's Digest Condensed Version

Skinny: To answer your question:

How Gooey Got Her Name

When I turned 5 . . . no, no, no, that's another story . . . OK, VERY funny in my own head . .

Background:

I grow butterflies and take them to work (nursing home, assisted living, memory care). There is a woman in memory care who is a REAL character. (Gooey doesn't even hold a candle to this woman). Needless to say after the first time I brought the butterflies she . . . "knighted" me MadamButterfly (this was about 3 years ago) and that has been and is still my name to her and her family.

When I started this journey (Oct 2010), a friend of mine told me she always measured her weight loss in STICKS-O-BUTT-er. Then if she only lost 1 POUND, it was 4 Sticks-o-BUTT-er. <sounded better to her and me> After all butter is just fat and fat is what we want to rid our bodies of. Hence the BUTT-er display in my siggy. So, when I joined 3FC I joined a challenge or two and there was a BL challenge already on-going. I kept an eye on it and joined the BL New Year, New You Challenge. I remember signing up and thinking . . . who is this Rainbow and why does everyone want to be on her team (Sorry Rainbow, but that's all I could think). As the challenge began I COMPLETELY understood why, and am so grateful that I was on the RED TEAM with my good Friend Rainbow !!

This is also where I "met" Sarge, Peanutt, Cheshire and Rainbow. Well apparently SARGE would go onto the Blue Team thread and "check out" the posts (something I never even thought of doing, why??? I don't know. As time went on, there was some . . . <Gooooey, clears her throat> cross posting. Sometimes to congratulate winners on the BLUE TEAM, well a few more weeks pass and there was an "unintentional" post on the blue thread and some smack talk, throw down challenge and . . . well some people on the blue team got upset. The red team "tried" to explain and smooth things over . . . but alas the Blue Team was . . . miffed. At least one of the Red Team players was "admonished" (is that the right word SARGE . . . LOLOL) and basically given a "GAG" order . . .

Hence the birth of SARGE's Boot Camp, where excuses and whining are PROHIBITED. This is also where we picked up Pokey and Reso. Through time and challenges, Sarge and I have had a few . . . one-on-one challenges. I believe it was during one of these that the term "Dripping Goo" aka BUTT-er came about, I believe it was Sarge, but I could definitely be wrong. <DA*N memory> and things have just evolved from there. If you're sweating enough to be melting BUTT-er, then you have a pile of Goo or BUTT-er at your feet . . . and having WON once or twice doing head-to-head battle with SARGE, I guess I just became the GooMaster. I actually have several names that have come and gone but MadamBGooey is the one that seems to stick (no pun intended).

Sorry you asked now Skinny???

YEA, it's Looooooooooooooong . . . I really tried to make it short . . . and believe me I could have gotten a LOT more details . . . LOLOLOL, like I could write a "short" story . . . so funny in my own head

NOW TROOPS, STORY TIME IS OVER . . . SO GET YOU FAT BUTT-ER's UP AND MELT IT AWAY INTO A PILE OF GOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

AND I MEAN NOW!!!

I also enjoyed story time. I feel like I got some history of the platoon also.

I had a good day eating wise. I leave for my shopping trip tomorrow but I bought some protein bars for breakfast so I can control my calories (no high calorie bacon and pancake breakfast for me)I also plan on making sure I make smarter choices at the restaurants and watch my portions (maybe one dinner can last me two nights)

My mom told me today that she would pay for my gym pass since I am in school and don't work very much which is GREAT because the only thing stopping me from getting a gym membership was I was worried about commiting to a monthly fee. So as soon as I get back from my trip I am signing up. I was already looking at some of the possible classes I could take
