Default Challenge to Get out of the 200s

I have been trying for nearly 2 years now to get back to onederland. I am determined to reach this goal by the end of this year. I refuse to be in the 200s come 1/1/12!!!

I am hoping that this challenge will motivate me to press on to 199 over the next few months and not allow myself to be stray the course.

Anyone else trying to get out of the 200s feel free to jump in and let's motivate each other to stay on track and say goodbye to the 200s.

I was briefly in Onederland a year or two ago....but then I hurt my back and got up to my highest weight ever (245). I am now able to do some non-weight bearing exercise (water aerobics, walking in the pool, and Zumba while sitting on an exercise ball).

I've been sidelined for the past two weeks with bronchitis, and have to wait one more week before the doctor clears me to exercise as he doesn't want me to relapse.

But I am VERY committed to achieving Onederland by 12/31/2011. 19 weeks to lose 25 lbs. I can totally do this!!

I hope other people join us! The more the merrier on our journey to Onederland!

I am in! I haven't been in onederland since 2001 when I graduated high school. After I got out of high school I quickly gained 45 lbs putting me over 200 and never lost enough to get under it since then (tho I've been close one or twice). I eventually ballooned up to 270 after having my first daughter, but have been losing ever since I saw that number on the scale.

The way I've been going this past week I might just hit that goal by the end of August (or early September). I stalled at about 219-220 for 3 weeks earlier this month due to gallbladder problems and then I had surgery 8 days ago, and ever since 4 or 5 days ago the weight has been wooshing off. I've lost almost 10lbs in less than a week. Some of that is muscle since I'm not cleared to exercise yet, but some of it's fat too (always be optimistic, that's my motto!). :-)

So what is everyone doing to lose? I'm calorie counting at about 1200 a day right now (it will be 1400 or so once I can work out again). And when I can exercise again I'll be doing my Turbo Jam dvds which I absolutely love as well as walking/jogging. I actually really want to get the Turbo Fire dvds, but can't afford them right now.

I would love to see 199 on my scale you better believe it!
I still have a ways to go, by the end of the year would be awesome; but I have to be realistic that it may just not happen

But if not the end of the year, then SOON into 2012!

Hi Latchkey Princess and diyana,

It's nice to have you join in the challenge. I am so ready to stick to my plan and get below 199.

Latchkey - great job on your loss. You are so close and I can't wait to celebrate your reaching onederland. I am following Weight Watchers but have also been sorta calorie counting on "My Plate". I only got serious again last week and have done really good since then. For exercise, I walk or do DVDs. I have a large variety of FIRM DVDs, Turbo Jam, Turbo Fire, Hip Hop Abs, Rockin body, a variety of WATP, 30 Day Shred, Billy Blanks and a few others.

diyana - Sorry about your back but I'm glad you're doing better and are able to do some light activity now.

I am very excited to push on to onederland this time. I went shopping on Saturday and it made me cry when I saw myself in the mirror. Before last year, I never wore anything larger than a 14 but I had to go up to 16s. While trying on clothes on Saturday, 16s are now too small and I had to go up to 18!!! I'm afraid that if I don't get serious and do something now, the next stop is size 20!!!

I will be going on a cruise on 11/27 and I'm hoping to be in the mid 190s by then. I'm looking forward to all of us working our way to onederland.

WE CAN DO IT!!!

Have a great OP day everyone

Isn't it funny the differences going up the scale as opposed to going down the scale? You were crushed to wear a size 18, but I was completely stoked when my size 18's fit! I just find things like that interesting. :-)

I'm in, you can never have too many challenges when it comes to getting fit :] What better way to lose the weight for grad school than aiming for the wonderful Onderland by Christmas!

Starting out at 210lbs, my dissertation fieldwork means walking about 10 miles three times a week over rough terrain, hoping to work in about 30 minutes of off-road running in-between observation sites since I can get all red and sweaty without coming across anyone for hours Even if I don't get down to the 100's if I can build up my fitness then i'll be happy :]

Really going to try and watch my diet, sticking to between 1200-1400 a day and really watching what i'm eating too. Really need to be strong with this as my mother isn't very supportive of my weight loss journey and until i'm permanently moved into student halls I have to eat the same food as the family (it's cultural, if I didn't it would be like slapping my family in the face) but if I can get out of the house every day for brisk walks/slow runs then it's manageable.

Once I get back to university i'm making use of the £30 year long gym membership, especially since i'll only be in once a week. If I can keep up three days of fieldwork combined with three afternoons of structured gym sessions it'll be better than 7 days of laziness

omgzitsmiranda - Sorry I missed your post. Nice to have you join in the challenge too. I hope we all do an awesome job with this challenge. I am looking forward to seeing how we all do.

Do you all think it would help to log our weight each week? I'm pumped and excited

OK so I have 18.6 pounds to reach onederland. I've done extremely good since Saturday and I plan on keeping it up.

Let the countdown begin...

I am already doing one challenge to get to Onederland - or as I like to call it, 1derland, because I hope to be there by 1/1/12. But extra support is always good so I'm in!

April - Congrats on your 36.8 that you've already lost. You are on your way to 1derland.

I did good with my eating today and I'm about to head out for a nice long hilly walk at Stone Mountain.

I hope you all had a great day too.
