Default June Weight Loss Challenge

It' summertime, everyone!

It's grilling and party season...YUM! So, let's make some healthy changes and choices together! All are welcome!

Here's how it works: Just state your weight-related or health goal, whether it be a loss in pounds, inches, size, or even an intangible feeling! You need not state your weight if you feel uncomfortable. Though the thread is titled "weight loss" please bear in mind that the overall goal is toward a healthier us and so your goal may not revolve around weight loss, it may be maintenance, eating healthier, and/or kicking a soda habit...whatever the case may be. Fitness and Exercise goals can be listed in our sister thread: June Exercise Challenge.

Note: We try to keep a members list with our goals and when goals are met, we highlight it in bold, red print! We love to celebrate with you! However, please don't feel bad if/when you may not reach a specific number, goal, etc. Always remember that making positive changes along the way (the journey) are wonderful accomplishments in and of themselves.

Monthly weight loss challenge FAQ's:

Do we weigh-in on a certain day and how frequently?
No, we don't have a specific WI day. When and how often we weigh-in is a personal matter and specific to each of our own indivual needs.

Do we need to post personals?
Absolutely not. Some do and some don't . If you don't have time for personals it's okay.....please post anyway.

Is everyone on a specific plan?
We are all on various plans. Some do WW, South Beach, our own plans, etc., though we do believe in and follow the guideline of not going below 1,200 cals a day.

What day do we count our loss, the last day of the month or the first of the following month?
Either way.

I hope to see people returning from earlier monthly Weight Loss Challenges and any newcomers. You can join at any point in the month, so let the challenge begin!

My goals are:
1. Log all food.
2. Drink at least 1.5 litres of water a dat.
3. Reach 120 and still be maintaining between 116 and 120 at the end of June.
4. Be at most 120 for my graduation (June 26th)

Default Alright... I already know that I tanked on that last one.....

So, my birthday is at the end of this month....I wanted more, but made no progress last month. I'll weigh in on the 1st and post, but here's my goal from there.

1. lose 15lbs by my birthday (will post exact number on 1st)
2. eat out once a week or less, pasta 2x a week
3. 6 cups veggies and/or fruit a day
4. 3 bottles of water a day
5. 30 min exercise 5x week

(I know it's long, you can just post goal numbers if easier)

Hello everyone. I'd like to join you this time.

My goals for June are:

1. Practice yoga at least once per day, every day.
2. Log my calories every day and stay below 1600 calories on any given day.
3. Lose 6 lbs (CW: 176.4 & GW: 170.4)

Hi!
My goals will be
1. Lose 10 lbs, weighed in Friday at 243. So 233 or under would be nice.

2. Drink AT LEAST 64 oz water every day. Aim for 128 oz.

3. Exercise 20 - 30 min a day, 5 days a week.

I'm not going to include my starting weight, because it's not quite June yet. My goal for this month is modest, since I've had a struggle this month. I'm aiming for 216. That's 4.8 lbs from where I am today.

In other news, I think I figured out part of my struggle for the past month. This month, I've been on an avocado kick - I live in Mexico and they're healthy, cheap, in season, and yummy. I've been eating a lot of them, way, way more than I usually do. A couple of weeks ago, I started getting a lot of nausea and indigestion. I thought it was because my doctor wanted me to do a trial of weaning off my rx heart burn meds - but it got worse and worse and worse. The nausea and indigestion turned to severe painfrom my stomach through my chest and made it hard to breath. A couple of nights ago in the middle of this, my mouth got dry and itchy along with the severe pain that took hours to subside. I finally decided I needed to figure out what was going on - so I looked back over my food logs and sure enough - every time I ate avocado, the symptoms started. The days I didn't eat any? I was fine. Dr. Google tells me this (both the mouth and the stomach) is a sign of avocado allergy . It makes sense, as my youngest son is allergic to kiwi and my mom is highly allergic to latex, and they're all in the same family. I'll be talking to my doctor about it the next time I see her, but for now I'm assuming it's an allergy (and a very unfortunate one for me, at that! I love avocado!) Anyhow, I've basically been poisoning myself all month - no wonder my body hasn't been having any part of doing anything but fighting it off! My weight loss stalled right when I the nausea started, and now that I've been a few days avocado free, the scale is moving down again.

I'd like to join this. I will weigh on June 1st for my current weight and goal weight. I have not been on in a long time, and I think this will help motivate me!

Hi everyone, I want to join in, too. My goals for June:

1) Calorie count to consist of 1400-1600 daily.

2) Exercise 4-5 times a week for at least 50 minutes.

3) Drink only water, tea or 1/2 serving fruit juice mixed with 1/2 water.

4) Resist POTATO CHIPS of any kind or any amount. They are my guiltiest "snack, junk and cheat food." (I do not normally adhere to total deprivation, but for the month of June, I will not eat any chips.)

5) Reach a goal weight of 225 by Thursday, July 1.

I'm joining! My goals:

1) Lose 3 kg (new lowest adult weight! 176->169,4lbs)
2) Go running 8 times
3) Be brave and buy new clothes in a normal sized people store
4) Homemade iced tea instead of diet soda

not a weight loss goal but:

5) Implant order

Ambitious, hopefully not rubbish!

Since I won't make my goal for the month of May, I'll keep the same set of numbers for June. My goal is to lose 10lbs. I'll submit my starting weight on Tuesday.

This is my first monthly challenge.

My goals for June are:
1. Drink 2 L of water per day.
2. Achieve BMI in overweight category. (179.6 lbs.)
3. Lose 8 lbs. (SW: 184.8 GW: 176.8)
4. Start C25K program. Something I have been trying to be brave enough to do for months now.
