Hi everyone,

I just joined the January weight loss challenge so I thought it would probably help to join this too. I really struggle with getting to the gym, you guys are an inspiration!

My goal for January is to do 600 minutes of cardio at the gym. Other workouts (walks, yoga at home) are wonderful, but I want to log 600 minutes at the gym to help me learn to love the place.

Jan. 4th: 30 minutes gym cardio
Jan. 5th: excuses
Jan. 6th: excuses
Jan. 7th: excuses
Jan. 8th: 30 minutes right after work

Will be at 60/600 as of 6pm.

I decided to get Yourself!Fitness for the PS2 (kind of like a personal trainer on the PS2) because I think I need the extra motivation right now. Got it "like new" for <$20. It arrived yesterday -first workout today. I'm happily sore, but there's no way for me to tell my PS2 personal trainer that I'm not doing jumping jacks unless/until I get an industrial strength sports bra! Freaking *ow*! I'm doing an alternative move more challenging than marching in place. (I had to do the jumping jacks during the setup phase and I hope my youngest was laughing because, "Ooo! That looks like fun. Let me try!" and not "Wow! That must be how milkshakes are made."

Despite my public pledge here yesterday I almost skipped the gym last night. I had to keep talking myself into it but I eventually made it. I think once I get into the routine it will be easier to just go - the more days that are behind me the more progress I stand to lose by blowing it off.
