I am soooo in!! I weighed in a
146 today, and my goal is to be 10 pounds lighter at Christmas --
136.
This year, my family is planning a Christmas dinner with no sugar, chocolate, etc. I think this is a great idea, and we all made promises to ourselves NOT to buy each other assorted chocolates, chocolate reindeer, or other sweet treats to put under the tree. This resolution came about because on all the past Christmases, my family would cook up such an elaborate dinner (complete with cookies, and other such munchies) that we were all stuffed and sluggish by the time it was over. Then, somebody suggested that, hey, let's just eat less! lol
And by the way, we're doing the same thing for Thanksgiving. At first, not having a food loaded with sugar seemed like blasphemy. After all, food is a way to celebrate, and bland, non-fatty, lower-calorie food choices just go against everything my family's done for years! But what a joy it was when I realized that cutting back on sugar/fast food "improves" your senses of smell and taste, and you enjoy your meals that much more.
Plus, now I am on the lookout for other sources of enjoyment, like hanging out with friends or doing well on the exam. I'm slowly realizing that my world does not in fact have to revolve around food.
This Christmas, I'm buying my mom something nice for the $20 that I save on the chocolate.
HUGS TO ALL.
WE CAN DO IT!!
