I got cortzione in left hip. Already it is feeling better. I can walk better. cant wait til yoga class to see if I do better. He said it would take a week for it to really kick in. Yeah just in time for Christmas! Christmas challenge should really kick butt. Looking forward to it. Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Pat

Dixiemae - Hope you feel beter soon.
twobluebirds24 - Exercise is definitely important but it sounds like you are making really good food decisions. Apparently food/diet contributes 80-90% to weightloss and exercise 10-20%. So what you are consuming smart things is definitely pushing you in the right track.
I went over my calories yesterday ~1600 calories.
Activity: 50 min elliptical, 3 hrs walking/shopping lol, 90 min hulahoop
Fluids: LOTS of water (no green tea )
I feel so BLOATED (tmi: I'm really backed up at the moment) I don't know what's wrong. I drink a lot of fluids and getting plenty of fiber. My period should becoming tuesday ish so it explains my HUGE cravings that I'm trying to ignore.
~____~ I HATEE IT

girls!
I wanted to apologize for being a horrible challenge leader. I've been rather out of it lately, just stuff with work and money. I haven't been sleeping right either. I'm starting my old habit of staying up till 6 am for no good reason. The only plus side is that my binge eating isn't accompanying the all nighters like usual. The scale is still going down, little by little.
So, what are everyone's plans for Turkey Day?

Grace, that happened to me the other week, I ended up having to give myself a dose of epsom salts...gross! My TMI revelation is that I have been eating so much less (even with increased fiber) after losing 50 pounds that my 'system' still hasn't gotten used to the decreased amount of work it has to do. I hope some day it will stop slacking off.
We are hosting a COMPLETELY SOUTH BEACH DIET thanksgiving. I might make my son a bowl of real instant mashed potatoes.

I reached this challenge goal a few days early! It was originally 171 and today I weighed in at 168 !!!! I will NOT let my vacation to NYC this week + thanksgiving ruin my progress
Food: 1208 calories
Activity: 80 min treadmill, 60 min hulahoop
Fluids: lots of water and green tea
I'm cooking a mini-Thanksgiving/anniversary dinner tonight for my bf and myself. I'm going to consume very little during the day to leave some room for dinner.
I leave for NYC tomorrow morning for 8 days. I will try to post as often as possible!
weebleswobble - Thanks for the encouragement<3
Love you ladies

I blew my goal away too! it was 212 and this morning I hit 208.8! yaaaay! I am SO changing my ticker for that number!

Hi everyone. Sorry I've missed the last few days. I'm around. My DH lost his job on friday so we're in kind of a spiral. I've not binged so I'll consider that my victory, but with that being said, it sucks this close to the holidays. Be back later on.

that really sucks. Everyone in our family used to feel sorry for us (pastor/minister, 'cause we're always broke)...last couple of years, I've been shocked at the comments they've made about our "job security"...which isn't particularly true (I think they forgot we practically got run out of our last church a year ago and had to move from one state to another, but oh well)...
I gained 50 pounds last time that happened, no binging, no binging no binging! put yourself first.
WE ARE HERE FOR YOU TESSA!

sprklemajik - I am SO sorry to hear about your DH and his job. I hope it works out in the long run. I'm sending positive thoughts to your family . What a horrible way to start the holidays. It's amazing you haven't binged and congratulations on that! I know I have issues with stress and binging.. Hope you all the best.
weebleswobble - Thank you Kate. Your 1.6 lbs is awesome! I'm in this thread more for motivation than winning because even a little loss is great .
JazzyPeggy - THANK YOU
I'm having early thanksgiving tonight. I just finished baking a apple crisp lol that is 324 / serving so I'm going to eat half a serving + 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream
I had to use up all my produce because I'm leaving my bf alone for 8 days lol and it's going to rot if I leave it. My bf is not much of a kitchen person. Leftover apples = apple crisp . I cut ALL the carrots into carrot sticks for my bf to munch on. I have to wash a bag of grapes and partitition into baggies for my bf to snack on too. <3 him

I'm so sorry hon. I know words probably feel pretty useless right now, but it will all turn around. What kind of work does he do? Any good prospects? I think it's awesome that you haven't binged, that is a huge victory!

Haha It's my first time making the apple crisp so I just followed directions online. I used real butter and brown sugar so not sugar free :P I figured I'll just eat LESS but enjoy it more lol. I don't have artificial sweeteners at home.
3-4 apples (sliced)
3/4 cup rolled oats
3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 T vanilla extract
2/3 cup butter
Preheated oven to 350 F
I mixed the oats, flour, sugar, spices together. Cut cold butter into very little cubes and using a whisk and fork I broke apart the crumble until it was crumbly. Mixed in the vanilla extract.
In a small baking dish, I put a layer of the crumble (approx 1/2) , then I added all the sliced apples, then used the remaining crumble to layer the top.
Bake for 45-50 minutes uncovered
I got rid of my apples lol. 8 servings and each ~ 324 calories
I'm eating half a serving with vanilla icecream
