Talking Morning all!

I was up pretty early this morning and saw a commercial for P90X workout dvds. They were very expensive! But they are supposed to get you in shape in 90 days. Has anyone had any experience with them? I found one on craigs list for $20. Thought I'd check before I purchased.

Had plans this evening, so went to the gym this morning to get my walking in. Kinda shocked myself on that one!


PrettyFriend - When you break it down like that, not bad at all! I read somewhere that if you plan to go to the gym 5 days a week, each time you don't go put a set amount (say $2) in a jar. At the end of the month give the money to the charity of your choice. Never really understood it, but I guess someone would benefit from me not getting off my bum.

beachluvr: Thats a really good idea, along the same lines as a 'swear jar' ha ha i have a friend that swears a lot so everytime someone catches her, she has to put a quarter in the jar! To answer your question about P90X, my sisters boyfriend has it and i watched pieces of it. It looks like it would totally kick your *** and get you in shape. It has a lot of chin up type things which i would NOT be able to do haha. So i think it is worth the money, just be ready to push yourself big time!

Kristy, wtg on your workouts. What a great way to think about paying for your gym membership, I agree with MsPerception.

MsPerception, you have been kicking butt even now in and of itself, let alone moving in 2 weeks....wtg! Oh, you will be burning calories big time moving even if you don't have as much time for your traditional routine!

Beachlover, havn't hear of that routine but it sounds interesting, thanks for mentioning it, wtg on t he walk.

Yay! Beachluvr! that is really great!

I had to once again nearly force myself at gunpoint to get on my magic nordic track, but I did it. Once I was on there, the guilt started since I didn't do any exercise yesterday...so I got 4.8 miles done! I even amazed myself!
Fullsteamahed-if you don't mind, I think I will steal your format for April like Msperception did. I really like having it all in one spot!

Hi everyone. I have been a real slacker this past week. I've had some stuff going on with my family and was only able to get to the gym once this past week. I thought about doing tapes at home a couple times and then talked myself out of it. I also did very BAD diet-wise.

So, after a week of eating crap and pretty much no working out - not only do I feel like a failure, I feel really depressed and physically sick too.

I have been too afraid to weigh in. I'm just going to try my best to get to the gym first thing after work tomorrow and keep on going.

MsPerception, Happy Birthday again to your little one and oh I just love little girls at that age, omg they are so adorable! Bless her.

Aidansmom, sorry to hear your having a tough week. I hope that the family stuff gets sorted out and all is okay. Family issues aside, regarding the eating and all and the feelings you expressed....oh boy! Sure been there before ( I think a lot of us have at one time or another) or countless times. It's a terrible sinking feeling, it was for me then. When you have other stuff going on too on top of it all, oh it's hard. I would like to share what has helped me if I may? Well firstly, every time those feelings and thoughts popped up and I thought about how much I ate or how bad i did, etc. etc. etc... I would stop myself immediately and replace those thoughts with things like " well, okay, it's in the past now, it's over.....it's history! Tomorrow is a new day! I will start fresh tomorrow, I will go to the store and get everything I need and plan my meals and know what im eating, tomorrow I start fresh! You might need to do it a zillion times a day but I beleive it will help you as it did me (and still helps me) and also I would say I am NOT a failure, I will NOT give up! A friend of mine here used to say we do not fail unless we give up. I went on a little soap box here, sorry adian...I just am trying to be helpful. I beleive very strongly that all it takes is ONE good day, just one....to vanish most of those negative thoughts and feelings and give you new strenghth because then you say, I did it! and If I can do one day, I can do two days, etc etc. Well, glad you posted and hope you have a good day tomorrow Anyways, aside from all my mumbo jumbo, lol, your plan sounds like a great one and right to the point!

Sat. I went out to do some raking and I really cranked and covered a lot of ground, I really saw a difference in how much I can do versus before. It is so rewarding to see that! TOday I didn't feel anything either nor did I feel sore after that walk....I find it easier to do the stairs and carry groceries up and am just capable of doing a lot more in general. It really is neat to see that sort of reward, the quality of living goes up. My clothes are looser too, let's see what the scale says but regardless....I am getting some good postives here.
We FINALLY brought my golds gym bench down so I can start doing my Lat pulldowns, work the largest muscle in the back to boost metabolism and burn more fat but to helpppppp my posture, it really needs work. Because that back muscle is large and all, it can take a few months for it to show (so i understand) but posture improves real fast (within a few weeks even at just a few workouts). Lifts your ribcage and chest . I was doing them with free weights too but I tend to enjoy the bench more. BOy, what a little yapper I am tonight! Time to post my minutes and give my soon to be carpal tunnel syndrome fingers a rest!

You ladies are all doing awesome..

Myself on the other hand, had a good week last week went to the gym 5 times. Went last night but was unable to do much. Sometime last week, friday morning i think, i managed to REALLY mess my right foot up, not sure how or what but i can not put any weight on it. It feels almost like a really bad bruise, its kind of odd. So needless to say i was unable to go to the gym this morning And....it gets worse, this morning when i weighed in, i had gained 3 lbs last week.....i dont get it, i worked out MORE than usual yet still gained?

Prettyfriend, I really am so sorry to hear you hurt your foot : (. Congrats on your workouts , I know how hard you are trying, but please don't overdo it and watch that foot! Are you able to put weight on it now? Please stay off your foot, pushing it at this point may only serve to further irritate your injury and if it persists please think about getting it checked out. Keep us posted okay? I have no idea about the weight gain, the ways of the scale can be I keep a journal so I can look back and see if a particular food or foods impeded my weight loss, if I had foods high in sodium, or if it's near my cycle as I always gain fluids around TOM, etc. If you have been watching what you eat in addition to working out, it's probably just fluids so you hang in there girl , ok? My weight fluctuates and that's why I went right along with the scale when I was weighing daily as I put on fluids sometimes. Keep at it and I am sure those 3 lbs. will come off for you. Hope your foot feels better and wishing you a speedy recovery.

Hi girls : ), just came to check in. Yup! one more day! I did 30 min. of wii today and tomorrow the sun will be shining so hoping to get out for a walk.
The day flew, I am going to go relax for a bit.....see you all tomorrow if not sooner . Yay on the miles and minutes!
