Default New Couch to 5K Week 1

I realize that there is a couch to 5K challenge that is on-going here but I was wondering if anyone would care to join me in a new round of a couch to 5K challenge that would have us ready to run a 5K on out of 2008?? That would be a cool way to finish off the year by being able to run a 5K I plan to start on a Monday Wednesday and Friday training schedule. I will be doing most of my "runs" in the morning before work on my treadmill at home (except for today which I will do when I get home).

It would be fun to have others in with me so that we can encourage each other through this What do you think??? Any takers? Or shall I just post my progress here and have others egg me on to keep up the work? I really need to get on a structured exercise routine that pushes me and is intensive enough to burn fat and calories. Before I gained back my loss from before I did a fair bit of running and found it excellent for buring calories. Back at it I go!

I've been posting to the other C25K thread; have you seen that one?

So glad you are taking on the C25K! I just completed week 5 day 3 on Friday...NEVER thought I would make it there. I'm also in the Guard, but in my unit we really don't have to run much....but I'm finally thinking about calling myself a runner! Great job at starting! Let me know how you do! Are you doing the treadmill or outside?

I have seen one of the existing threads (week 5 or week 6?) It is good to read through but it would be fun to have someone else along with me from week 1 I will be using the treadmill (especially now that we are into fall and then winter is coming - I'm not keen on running on snow or ice!)

I'd like to join, too. I have started it several times but keep quitting (with various excuses).

That's awesome that so many of you are doing it. STICK WITH IT! I'm obsessed with C25K because I've tried to become a runner so many times before, but like most, would try to do too much too fast and end up quitting being frustrated. This really works!

WOOO-HOOO I did week one day one and I survived (well maybe I should hold off on that statement until I see if I can get out of bed in the morning ) I followed a podcast that the original Couch to 5K group was using that tells you when to speed up and when to slow down.

I did 1.541 miles in 28.49 minutes. It burned 180.7 calories and 26.6 carbs. Hubby is going to do his run this evening. Yay me Round two on Wednesday morning before work.

How is everyone else? Anyone else do day one today and how was it??

Can I join? I was planning on starting week one last week, but I had some stuff going on and didn't. I'm going to start again this week. Probably run Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

There's a couple other podcasts.
