Wow, faux, you are awesome!
Finally a movement in the right direction. Today 0.6 less than yesterday--yaay!
The skunk is so horrible!! I have three dogs--shortly after moving to our new house this past April, they got skunked on their last outside before bed (around 11:00pm!) We had no experience with this, so of course when hub hears all this racket in the backyard, he opens the door and yells at the dogs to come in (don't want to wake the neighbors).
WRONG! If we'd been thinking, do NOT let them in! They came in all wild, running around and rubbing their faces all over the carpet, furniture, ran upstairs to the master and jumped on bed, rubbing skunk stuff EVERYWHERE!
OMG--what a mess. We were up until 2am, washing the dogs (3 times) with a solution I found on a website, washing bedclothes, spraying (soaking) the carpet with stuff, mopping the wood and tile floors, and had a horrible night b/c it was burned into our nostrils and we could seemingly taste and smell it all night long.
Later put coffee grounds and baking soda everywhere, potpourri on stove, cinnamon in oven roasting, and had professional carpet cleaners come in a couple of days to do carpet. It still took a couple of weeks before it didn't smell like skunk when I would come home from work and open the door. And one dog had bad skunk breath for at least one month!
The kicker is, one of our dogs didn't learn his lesson, and about a month later, got involved with ANOTHER skunk outside! This time, we knew to keep him outside and luckily the others were inside and we were able to isolate him. Just washed him several times outside, and then made him sleep on our balcony outside our master for a few days--he didn't seem to mind!
Apparently there are a lot of skunks here--I never had any of my dogs tangle with any in Illinois, Indiana, or Florida, but I come to CA and there are a ton of skunks in my neighborhood!

Well, it's going down steadily but I don't think I'm in any danger of winning this one unless I unexpectedly have to have a body part removed.

Just to let you ladies know...I had someone recommend a product called "nok-out" to me yesterday at work. So last night after work I went and got some. WOW Neither my house or my dog smell of skunk anymore...at all. So if any of your pooches get skunked try and find this product! The lady in the store told me her and her hubby were renovating a cottage and found a dead mouse in the beams. She sprayed it on the beams and when they went back a week later there was no smell at all. Amazing stuff.
Faux---wow so close!!

Dear Tulip, I am so sorry your dogs got skunked. I only laughed for a couple of minutes! Really, that is so awful. I've smelled that smell before, I'm from Alberta, and we got skunks there. I'm glad you found that product. I hope your dogs learned their lesson!
No change, I'm at a plateau of something. Humbug! Also, Blast and Criminy!!
Fauxtini, you are doing so great!! Wow, girl!
