Ok - the CRAZIEST thing happened to me. I'm sitting her craving crunchy things... potato chips, pretzel.. whatever - and I'm doing my BEST to not succumb to the 140 calories per oz. yumminess... so I decided to try something else. SNOW PEAS! Raw, in the pod - and you know what - the crunchiness of them WORKED!!! It was amazing!!! and they're like 25 calories per 3/4 cup! I could eat a BAZZILLION of them!!!

Right now I'm eating some blueberries.. i love them

How's everyone else's day going???

Shay - I have a SAFEWAY. I will seek out the Silk Creamer!!

Regarding Ben's room: I found a very smelly backpack with dirty gym shorts in it. ICK!!! I also found one of my oldest quilts smelling "not so fresh." Like something wet was spilled on it . . . milk, perhaps?? DOUBLE ICK!! I've washed it twice by hand in the bathtub and am rinsing it right now. I hope that's enough. I don't want to have to wash it again.

I cleaned his carpet and am thinking about buying him a computer desk that will keep the CPU off the ground. Something I can roll away to vacuum underneath. I'm off to Craig's List and will check back later!!

BIG HUGS!!

gg- getting DD to clean her room is the CONSTANT war in our house! I don't want to do it for her.. but then again she's 6. I'm hoping that she'll catch on. The biggest thing is it really doesn't bother me (the mess) - except when something gets broke because she didn't put it away and she throws a fit. *sigh* Luckily for me, the only thing she's allowed to take in there is a cup of water at night... (which she rarely drinks anyhow, it's a comfort thing)

Today I have to start on another baby quilt. A co-worker asked me to make one for her coming Grand-daughter. I wish she would've gave me more time - but I'll get it done. The baby shower is September 7th. I know she wants a Winnie the Pooh theme. I think I'm going to cheat and see if they have one of those ready-to-sew packs at Joann's. Save me cutting time

I'm going to go do some yoga while DD cleans up some before we go shopping. And we're eating at home first to alliviate Drive-thru temptation!

How's everyone else doing this weekend?

I'm on my way out the door. Wendy, my bff, bought a dog (a little Ciao puppy named Little Miss Taffy) from a breeder in Texas and they are flying the dog to Seattle. We'll have some kind of fun dinner in Seattle tonight and Taffy arrives at 3:00 pm tomorrow. Then we drive 400 miles back home. YAWN.

It should be fun!! Doesn't sound like I'll be anywhere NEAR On Program though!! tee hee!!

Have fun everybody!

Eny: Yowsa! It's nice to get compliments when you are almost naked (heck, naked ones are better!). I love snow peas. I didn't realize you could eat them raw until we put them in a salad a few weeks ago. They are delicious...and taste so fresh raw. I'll have to try that when I want something crunchy.

nancy: I can't wait until I don't have to deal with TOM. But then again, will I ever miss it?

likenoother: Silk creamer? Yum! I like hazelnut flavoring. I sometimes buy the Torani sugar free syrups and add those to my coffee (or my ff plain yogurt).

Mindy: you are so funny, lingerie test!

We went out for our 3rd anniversary last night to a nice restaurant. The atmosphere was great, the food was great and the service was impecable. We managed to stay OP except for a small dessert. We ordered an appetizer and a salad and an entree and split it all. Afterwards, I got a nice bottle of wine and had a couple of glasses of that at home. Today, we are babysitting a 2.5 yr old, that should keep us busy!

I hope all is well with everyone.

troo - Joe and I's 3rd is coming up in Jan. My original plan was to be at goal then.. but I don't see me losing #50+ in the next 5 months (although it could be possible.. hmmm...) I also want a ring by then.. so we'll see how MY plans work out huh???

I'm excited about tomorrow - it's the Blueberry Festival around here. I love going.. but the biggest downfall is the pancake breakfast. I'm still going, but limiting myself like I never have before!

Hey everyone! Just a quick check-in for me. I'm not doing too well with this August challenge. Chinese buffet, pork BBQs, that crunchy high-calorie snack mix Enygirl resisted (which I didn't, lol), oatmeal cream pie. UGH!!! I'm so NOT happy with myself! I had better get on the ball if I want to do well in any of these challenges I'm in. *hanging my head in shame* I'm lousy at this weight-loss stuff!

*sigh* Well, I'm going to try to plan a weekly menu (calories pre-counted) to see if that will help get me on track. 14 days left in this month. Maybe I can still make August's challenge to get to 188.

Sorry to be such a downer. I'm just aggravated with myself!

Eny: 3 yrs? That is what we were celebrating! 50# is a lot in 5 months. A ring would be a great present. What kind of ring do you want to get? How was the blueberry festival? I love blueberries! I like them especially in smoothies. Were you able to resist the pancakes?

Blue: I'm sorry you are struggling. I think we all go through these periods, the important thing is that you don't give up. I find that I am much quicker at getting back on my feet if I stay a regular on 3FC. Otherwise, I can disappear for a couple of months, within which I manage to gain back most of my weight that I lost. Don't give up! As the 12-step groups say, "It's progress, not perfection." A weekly menu is a good idea, that's what I do. It's important to have a backup plan for days when plans change e.g. you don't feel like cooking. I keep a list of quickly prepared things/ideas for such days. Lately, my favorite ideas have been getting prepackaged salads from the grocery store and also making sauteed shrimp for a quick salad. You can do this! I'm not doing so well in my August goal, either.

Hi everyone else! This has been sort of a relaxing weekend for me. I had to go grocery shopping yesterday and today. Because of inflation and because we live paycheck to paycheck, we have to go to 3 or 4 different stores to save the most money possible. We go to a produce store, Target (one in San Diego has a great selection of groceries), a supermarket and every other week we go to Costco too for chicken breasts, eggs and coffee. It's pretty exhausting and I don't know how I will do it during school.

I found a new snack that is yummy. My husband made it up, actually. You slice up a roma tomato, cut up a mozzarella stick and put pieces of the stick on top of the tomato slice, you sprinkle some pepper over the entire thing and you splash it with some balsamic vinegar. It's super good and low calorie.

Have a good day!

Hi trooworld, sounds like you've got a good plan. That's exactly what I need to do. I see what you mean about getting back on track easier by staying on the board. Just being in touch with others helps! Thanks for the encouragement!

Just a post.. I'm not doing well.. the stresses of life are really getting to me.. work is killing me, I can't seem to get ahead... I'm not sleeping well. My depression is flaring up BIG TIME! I'm PMSing... and I want desperately to be pregnant - which having 6 people around me pregnant is killing me...

I need a break - I need sleep - I need a hole to crawl into. Food is good for the most part Yesterday wasn't the best, but oh well. I'm working my butt off... trying to lose this weight.. but right now I'm just here...

alright i have decided to start over and set my goals for the rest of the year. i am hoping to be down to about 155 by the end of the year and unfortunintly i am start at around 178 again those 4 b=pounds that i lost in june are back. i have seriously taken time off that has killed me big time i feel like doing nothing to get back at it. however i find that i tend to do that and i know that it has not helped at all.

Enygirl: I hope things let up soon, and good luck with the pregnancy situation. My husband and I went through problems with that and we consulted a fertility specialist and found out it was a problem on hubby's end. We ended up deciding to not have kids instead of going through artificial insemination. They say that a lot of people get pregnant when they lose weight, that the weight affects your ability to get pregnant.

mrsaugie: hang in there, you can do it!

Hello everyone else...things are well on this end. On plan and happy in general. Excited because school is almost ready to start.

Hi kids! Sorry for the absence- sounds like things have been... er.. interesting lately! I left my lap tap charger at school for the weekend, so I was without for a while!

I ran with my student last friday for the first time- we had 6 other kids with us, and it was great! We run again tomorrow. We are both motivating each other- I hope it lasts!

Shay- I've been thinking about you lately! I was thinking about your millionth binge-free day and realizing just how awesome that is. I've really been struggling, I feel like I am in survival mode and I need to eat everything because I may never eat again! I'm not sure how to get a handle on it,or what's causing it. I'm trying not to dwell...

Have a great week! I am getting my butt handed to me by 7th graders every day, but I love it!
