I'm going to the show!
I'm in! I would love to lose 10 by Feb 10th. I'm at 147, so that would be 137.
I made a bet with myself to lose weight; I purchased season tickets for my husband and myself, to the performing arts theater. I will not go to any of the shows until I weigh 135. The first show is in mid February! So hopefully I'll be at 137.5 or below by the 10th.

Well, I bit the bullet and weighed myself this morning. 72.4 kgs!! I've gained back all the weight I worked so hard to take off over the past couple months. 72.6 kgs is 159.7 lbs, so getting to 149.7 means 68 kgs, just where I was about a month ago. Oh, well, stop the balloon! I'm sticking to metric because that's what my scale is. Wish me luck, please! Here I go!

congrats to you all! Slimsara I LOVE your idea of betting yourself and holding something "hostage" until you meet yoru weight goal. I was thinking of buying an expensive pair of jeans that are a size too small... but those may be my ultimate goal which I hope to reach by june (140 from 168 now). Hmmm... I need to put something down that I value and would be peeved if I didn't get to 10 by 2-10. You have given me something to ponder tomorrow night in class!
On a separate note - anyone have a good reco for a scale? I had a taylor from target and it shows my weight in an 8lb range in a space of 2 minutes. This mornign I stepped on 4 times in a row - 173, 164, 166, 171. I put it back in the box and will return that bad boy to target... any have a good reco for a CONSISTENT scale???

I hope it's not too late to join? But I had to get excited, and **I'm not kidding here ** Feb 10 th is my birthday! Honest to goodness! I'll be 32 this year. So I'm pretty sure this thread is here as a huge sign for me. I weighed in the new year at 246.5 and I've seen numbers from 241-244 this week. I've been eating *okaaay* but what I really need is to get back to the gym! I had a touch of a head/chest cold that I used as an excuse not to go, but now I have to get back into it. So I guess my goal will be 235...secret goal will be 230 (yes I know, its more than 10 by the 10th!)
I'm Michelle, mom of Robert and Rachel, wife of Michael. I live in Canton, OH (northeast ohio) I work as a nurse at the hospital, my specialty is dialysis and diabetic education (many people on dialysis are the result of long term diabetes complications so the two are not as unrelated as they sound!)
I wouldn't say I'm the most consistent poster on here, but I find the more things I get involved in, the better I stay on track! So if you'll have me, I'd love to join! Thanks for whoever's idea this one was! So cool that Feb 10th is my b-day!

Great job everyone
I am on plan eating wise. However, I have not been getting my exercise in. I think I have a bug that is going around. It hurts to move ! Also it is my TOM so I am trying to ignore the scale. As of now the 1 lb I saw gone is back. My weigh in day is not until Tuesday though so I'm not going to panick just yet.

rdye: Tanita scales are great. I think bed bath and beyond carries them, not sure about Target, but worth checking -- I've never had problems with them!
I don't think I can handle this... I lost another 1.5, taking me up to 3.5 total already and only 6.5 left to lose. I mean, nothing's official til tomorrow at WI, but this has been one productive week for me!!

Congratulations to everyone who has lost weight this week! Good job! And welcome to all the new folks who have dropped in since I've last been here. My weigh-in is Tuesday of next week. I hope to have at least another pound gone by then. My fingers are crossed.

One down, nine more to go! I wasn't supposed to weigh until Sunday, but I'm addicted to my scale. I ask my husband to hide it from me until weigh day, but when I ask him where it is, he just can't say no to me .

No pounds gone yet....
HI All! Been trying to do this 10 pounds by Feb. 10th challenge and I haven't lost a pound yet, in fact, haven't lost in over a week, so I am going off the diet for today and will check in with everyone Monday or Tuesday....!!! Tuesday is my birthday, so I'd like to break through this before then.....! Wish me luck...!

I am down 2 pounds! Its an unofficial weigh in, but I had to get on the scale..
Like Manda - I too am addicted to the scale.
Congrats everyone, not just for losing weight, but for sticking it out! This weight loss stuff can be so hard sometimes!

I started this challenge at 171, and my official weigh-in isn't until Wednesday, but I snuck a peek, and I'm 167 this morning! Which means I've lost 4 lbs! (Assuming it doesn't go up by Wednesday! ) Almost halfway there and January isn't even over!
