good morning!
mavis and losing, thanks for the support. Going to see the therapist today, so that will either help me feel better or, more likely, cause my head to feel more scrambled than ever and i'll be posting self-pitying posts later this afternoon.
on the plus side, the scale said 143 this morning (finally)!! The part of that I don't like is that my stomach has been all knotted up this week, so I've easily been eating between 1000-1300 cal a day, which sounds like so little!! I think that's going to be a struggle to keep up with when my life settles again (whenever that may be).
OK I'm off to the gym.
All you TBL girls, good luck, and keep up posted on how to get in on that next time around -- it sounds like fun!!

So, let the truth be told....I have been stalking your group since early on in your challenge and you seem like a nice bunch. I know it's a bit late, but may I join????? Even if you just let me post here til Feb starts and I can officially join then, that would be so nice
Just a brief intro on me - My 2008 goal is to lose 30 pounds by my 30th birthday (in July). I have lost 4 pounds since January 1. I am a calorie counter and try to eat whole-foods as much as possible. I enjoy walks in the woods (that's how I get my exercise), I LOVE coffee, I LOVE to cook, and I am thus far enjoying my weight-loss journey. Seriously - I don't know why, but I am LOVING this. I just feel SOOOO DARN GOOD!
I've seen a few of you on the boards before (Mother, Shrinking), but am looking forward to getting to know the rest of you.

S: Hang in there. I hope things will get better soon for you. Did you know that stress makes it harder to lose weight? Congrats on the scale weight.
Hugs,
Rachel

Wish4fit:
I and (I am sure the rest of the girls) would love for you to join us. Congrats on your 4 pound loss. Your goal for this summer sounds so reasonable. Just think how good you will feel about yourself.
I will add your official numbers in Feb.

alisluv: Thanks for the pep talk about the diet coke. I have stuck to my plan and only drink 1-2 a day. Not really a problem.
Don't worry about the scale. If you are On Plan, then the weight will come off. You really are doing good.
Have a great day!

Front page updated:
Congrats to all that lost the 5 pounds so far you are doing so good. For those that still need to loose more, you can do it.
Now for myself: I have been kicking butt with the "diet" this week. I am down to 199.5 again. That is a total of 6 pounds this month. I still need to loose 4.5 pounds to get to my goal for this month. I know I can do it. I am on a roll.
Good luck this week to everyone and have a blessed day.

oh my gosh Rachel you're doing great -- 6 lbs?? i have to admit, I had some doubts about your lofty goal of 10 lbs this month, but you're all over it!! Way to go!! And about those Diet Cokes -- how are you feeling now that you've cut down?
Wish -- of course join!! seems like you're really committed, too (how else would you have the patience to read this thread for weeks??). I'm loooking forward to getting to know you!
OK, I'm here at a cafe in my old neighborhood, just ate half a sandwich and I have a cup of soup here...whatever. I had a kickass workout this morning (jogged a mile at the end of it!!) and haven't eaten much all day.
I also just ordered Eat, Pray, Love off of Amazon, which was a book I was reluctant to read because I knew it would make me want to leave John...now I feel like I'm ready. Deep breath. I'm gonna be single soon.
Thanks again all for listening. It's a hard thing to talk with my friends about...

S:
Good for you for making the leap and leaving. I know that it must be hard. But if you know that this is what you should do, then you should definitely leave. I was in the situation when I was in my 20's, except it was the other way around. I was the one that was dumped. Of course, for years I was sad (heart broken), but now I am so glad it happened. In hindsight, it would never have worked. Too many signs that it was not working, but of course at the time I was blind to it. So I am glad he made the decision to break it off. Now I have been happily married for the past 14 years with three wonderful children.
So chin up! Good job on the exercise!
I know that my goal was pretty lofty, but I fiqured since I had gained the weight back that I lost in Dec., that I would loose that quick enough and if I really worked hard, I would loose the next 5. So, I really believe that I will make it.
Have a great week and keep us posted.
Hugs,
Rachel
P.S. My son wanted me to tell you a joke that he told me this morning (he's right beside me now and wants me to send this to you).
"What are the three subjects that snakes are good at?"
(Sorry S., my son said that I could not give you the answer in this post.)

Wow crazy amount of posts today to catch up on! Everyone sounds like they're doing awesome these past couple days, staying on plan, cutting some extra things out (DIET COKE!) etc. I absolutely love this group, just because I've already felt like I've made a bunch of good friends. It only took me almost 2 years on 3FC! =) haha!
I'm not sure if you guys have done this, but if you have itunes you can download Jillian Michaels podcasts, and they are wonderful. You have to search podcosts under KFI AM and download Sunday =) I'm listening to an old one right now. It's great, she's talking about willpower.
Wish....we'd be THRILLED to have you jump on board! Just keep posting, we're here for you! Congrats on the loss so far!
Okay now for me today, I've done pretty well today. I ate pretty much on plan, and I did a 30 minute 2 mile WATP dvd. I did most of it with the weighted hand gloves, the when they used the weighted balls on the tv I switched and used 3 lb dumbells. I could really feel the burn then, but it was great! =) I'm still at 208, but I can tell a few more pounds are going to fall off soon!
Peace out girlscouts! =)

Lizzie and KCW.....I used to be a fun teacher, now I'm a fun Vice Principal LOL! Seriously, I do get a kick out of all the dances the kids "make" me do - yeah I look pretty stupid, but it lets them know that I'll do anything to make them smile! I'm hoping that by the big end-of-year graduation dances, my weight will be down some and I will be proud to shake my booty!
Wish - welcome! In the short time I've been here, I've felt such great support and encouragement from everyone, and days when you need it most, it helps so much!
Mom2 - congrats on the Diet Coke reduction!
Ok - i have a guess on the "Snake Subjects" joke....I'll say Sssscience, Sssspelling, and Ssssocial SSSStudies.....???
