Default 90 Day Weight Loss Challenge!

Okay so I never actually started a thread before but I have been “blah” for months now and can’t even say that I am trying to lose weight anymore. For years I had been at least making a feeble effort (with little or no success) but in the last few months, I have been one with the couch and eating anything I wanted. I have over 85 pounds to lose and I hate the way I look. It is affecting every aspect of my life and I truly believe that I am depressed because of the cycle that I am in: fat=depressed=eat=fat=depressed…etc. I know many of you can understand that and I am so grateful to have found a community of people that get me. So here is my challenge:

90 Days of Weight Loss – Gung Ho, no holds bar, 110% effort weight loss. Starting tomorrow, there are exactly 90 days until the end of the year and I would love nothing more than to enter the New Year with a new body (even if it is not complete) and the assurance that I am on my way to achieving my goals. For 90 days I am going to jump in with both feet – otherwise, I am afraid I might stay on the sideline. So here’s what I am going to do:

Stay under 1200 calories everyday
Drink 128oz. of water everyday
Cardio: 60 minutes, everyday
Crunches: 100, everyday
Squats: 25 everyday

Anyone can join and you can choose whatever you want to challenge yourself with but it has to be a challenge. For me and my couch potato self, this is a huge step so I chose to start with this and will add more as the 90 days go on.

This is encouraging to me so I hope it will be to you as well: I got this idea from a good friend who did something very similar – 90 days of strenuous exercise with a strict diet. She lost 60 pounds and went from a size 18 to a size 8! After the 90 day period, she kept up with exercise and toned it down and lost another 32 pounds. She has kept it off for over a year now and looks amazing.

It’s only 90 days!

It is not good for anyone to eat less then 1200 calories a day - you are starving your body. I will admit, I have eaten less then 1200 calories a day but I never make it more then one day a week - to do it for 90 straight would be a very bad idea IMO.

Please re-thinking your daily calorie limit. I would bump it up to at least 1500 and even that is being super strict.

Otherwise, I think you have a fantastic idea and wish you the best of luck!

As soon as I come up with what I want to do for the next 90 days I will post

Thank you for the advice sotypical. I am actually going to follow WW and I was told that for my points range, the caloric intake is about 1200 but I am not sure how accurate that is. I am going to stick to my points - I know that is safe!

Thanks again!

I know my points range on WW is around 1200-1300 so I think someone gave you the wrong weight watchers information!

1 point is roughly 50 calories.

I just don't want to see your starve yourself.

Count me in too, I have been setting goals and not sticking to them and not being realistic for what I can lose. I want to be below 150 by Christmas. That's entirely do-able if I just stay focused.

I plan to exercise 30 minutes every day in some form. I will log all my food in Fitday and stay below 1500 calories. I will also drink at least 100 oz of H20 every day.

I will come here often for support

I love and adore challenges and I've been slacking off with weightloss since I got a new job, but I would love a new body for New Years so I will:

1) Follow my adapted SBD rules.
2) Drink 64 oz. of water each day.
3) Do at least 30 minutes of cardio everyday.
4) Weight training/toning four times a week.

Smile I'm In Too !!!!

Hey Ladies, count me in too. I joined the Christmas challenge however this is a new thread everyone is starting out fresh (posting daily). I can do it I actually started today, so I am going to challenge myself here is what I'm going to do.

128 ounces of water daily
60 minutes of cardio/weight training at least 4-5 days a week.
1400-1500 calories daily.

Let's keep one another motivated and really strive to attain these goals. Good or bad just post results. Since we all have set goals we should select a day of the week to post results and still post daily. I think this would help a lot. What do you guys think?

Well it's the end of day 2 for me and I'm feeling ok...I haven't managed to do all 4 goals on either of the days, but I have been doing the most important thing, on both days I've done the exercise so I'm feeling pretty good about myself right now.

We can do it!

The only thing that I've been having trouble with is the drinking of the water. I'm not a big fan of the way my tap water tastes. Other than that, things have been going fairly well. I'm using my NYC Ballet workout DVDs, and let me tell you, I've noticed a difference in my posture, which has made a huge difference already. No backaches yesterday!

So far so good!!
Water is OK, exercise is going, Fitday is great although I have to guess with some of my meals and just pick something fairly close.

Water is hard for me, so I try to drink as much as i can in the morning.. I don´t know why but it´s easier in the morning!!

Hope everyone posts and tells how they´re doing!!!
