I gained ten pounds in a year

  • I need to get this out.

Last year, I was at 129 when I came back from my holiday. I lost a few pounds traveling somehow, and wasn't keen to question it. Fast forward a few months, I'm graduating college and I weigh 132 and feel good about it. Fast forward to June, I'm 136 and feeling a little chubby. Fast forward past my summer holiday and I'm 139, pushing 140.

I have never gained weight so quickly in my life. What's worse is for like two months, I've done nothing about it. But I was going through my wardrobe the other day, throwing out old clothes, and discovered that my new jeans that used to be too big were now really really tight.

I kicked things into gear by going low-carb, immediately. I eat a lot of cake and chocolate and sweets, and it's easier for me to cut all of that out if I just think about "it's a carb" not "it's a calorie". It's been two days and I've already dropped a pound and a half (is it fat or water, I don't know, but the scale registered it and that makes me feel good).

I guess I need to take this as a lesson not to rely on my metabolism to keep me skinny when I'm fueling it with cake
  • I gained 30 pounds in a year.... I was doing great, I was just below 300 lbs, and then I got deathly sick, and was hospitalized for a week, and had surgery, and they told me that a side affect of the surgery was that I would gain weight fast... well I expected maybe 10 lbs... not 30.... so I understand your pain! I've always been a big girl, but I'm so done with gaining weight that fast!

You've got this! You can do it!
    Best of luck!
