Do you ever eat ALL of your calories before noon?!
This morning I made a delicious, hearty breakfast. Only problem was, I plugged it into myfitness pal and I only have 63 calories left for the day! ughhh. I'm not even THAT full. What do you do when this happens?! Or how do you stop yourself from splurging?
I make a menu for the day and follow it.
I list each item by calorie and by meal, that keeps me from eating my entire allotment before noon. I check off each item as I eat it that way I am sure to get everything in and I don't accidently eat something twice.
Eat light for the rest of the day, salad, some lean protein. You'll go over for the day obviously, but remedy that by eating a a couple hundred calories lighter for the next day or two. It's no big deal if it happens once in awhile, just not every day.
I write down my menu for the day..calculate the total calories..and follow it to a T... If im extra hungry.. i may or may not add in a protein snack like a cheese stick in the middle of my day..along with a couple fibre capsules to help me feel full and lots more water.
I usually try to figure out how many calories are in my meal before I eat it- then I can make choices. I do, however, often eat most of my calories by the end of lunch (which is my big meal).
Pffft, there have been times I've eaten all my calories before 2:00am! Fortunately I've been able to put the breaks on that kind of behavior for the most part...
But yeah, I'm right there with ya, briters89.
If it's later in the day and I feel alright, I will just wait it out. If it happens earlier (12pm would be early in my book), I just eat my normal meals and just call that day a wash, calorie wise. I try to focus on making behavioral improvements, rather than losing weight in those moments. It's really helped me a lot.
Thank you guys! I've been doing SO good with counting calories, and sticking to 1200/day. I just took my dog for a long, hilly walk. Myfitness pal said I earned 420 more calories. i think I'm going to use those and stick with fruits, veggies, and some lean meat!

1200 is probably way too low for you, adding another 400 sounds like a good plan!
I do this all the time :/ I use to skip breakfast, I'm never hungry in the mornings, but I try to force myself for the sake of metabolism... but then when I start I'm STARVING. Lately I've just been eating right before I hit the gym (or leave for the day) that way by the time the hunger hits, I've already busy Also I drink lots of coffee/tea, its kinda my pre-breakfast breakfast But the others are right.. 1200 does seem a bit low.. I've found sometimes adding a hundred or two to your dinner helps the morning hunger
Goodluck
I tend to eat the same lunch every single day (unless I'm going out for lunch) and clocks up to around 400/450 calories. This generally stops me from going overboard on my meals by sticking to the same foods. To me it would be fine to eat back those calories every now and then if this does happen where you do eat majority of your calories in one meal.
i think it just depends on how active you are to see how many calories you should consume. if i eat 1500-1600 cal/day i gain weight. eating 1100 - 1300 calories helps me burn .2 - .4 lbs/day (i know this because i'm a daily weigher and i've gone through trial and error for months to figure out what calorie range works for me and my workouts)
but to get back to your original question, try lemon water! i have a huge water bottle that i put lemons in and it gives me the satisfying taste of eating something. also, gum works wonders when you're not wanting to feel hungry after you've eaten.
I purposely avoid eating before 2-3 PM most days for this very reason. Controls my hunger, blood sugar and I get to have a HUGE lunch and a big dinner.
I have found that it's very hard to make up for having a bad day. In the past I have tried to make up for a bad day by dieting extra hard the next day. However I just end up much too hungry and actually end up eating more than I should have for a second day in a row. So now when I accidentally eat more than I should, I count it as a slip up, go to the gym, move on and make sure it doesn't happen again.
When I do to prevent slip ups is I create a menu. But not just any menu. I made a menu of all the healthy go to meals I have when I am being incredibly lazy because I wanted to make sure I really had no excuse not to follow my menu. I also do a lot of prep work when I get home from the market, like peeling and chopping vegetables. When vegetables are so accessible I really have no excuse not to eat them and also making salads turns into a quick easy to do meal. Another thing I will do is keep easy to grab proteins in my fridge like already grilled chicken, canned tuna (in olive oil...no mayo!!) and cheese. Finally I measure everything including the weight of what I eat. So even if I go over my calories I know exactly when I put into my mouth.
